Garbage-free village roads
For many years, the province has always identified waste treatment, especially household waste and plastic waste, as one of the important tasks. On February 27, 2020, the Provincial Party Standing Committee issued Directive No. 17-CT/TU on mobilizing the entire population to focus on collecting and thoroughly treating waste released into the environment. Implementing this direction, many organizations and individuals in the province have always strived to do a good job of environmental protection. The Women's Union of Tan Hung Commune (Lang Giang) is a typical example.

These days, when coming to the commune, everyone can clearly see that the village roads and alleys in all the villages are clean and tidy. Along both sides of the roads leading to the villages, there are many straight, shady trees planted, mixed with many types of flowers in bloom. What is special here is that there is no litter on the roads. The above results are due to the timely and close direction of the local Party Committee and government in recent years in environmental protection work. Associations, especially the Women's Union of the commune, have actively implemented solutions to keep the environment green, clean and beautiful.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Oanh, Chairwoman of the Commune Women's Union, said: "To effectively mobilize the entire population to collect and thoroughly treat waste released into the environment, the Union has registered with the Commune Party Committee to implement the clever mass mobilization model "Maintaining green, clean, and beautiful roads". The unit has developed a plan to deploy environmental sanitation to 15/15 branches, promoting the campaign "5 no, 3 clean", focusing on activities of clean house, clean kitchen and clean alley. At the same time, many conferences have been organized to propagate and mobilize cadres and members to collect and treat waste, responding to the movement "Anti-plastic waste".
The Association considers environmental protection work as one of the important criteria for evaluating and evaluating the emulation of the branches every year. Accordingly, in order to do a good job of environmental sanitation, the Association mobilizes members to collect garbage and waste; clean village roads, plant and take care of trees, flowers, and ornamental plants on both sides of the road 2-3 times a month. Currently, in the commune, there are 15 road sections managed by women's association members with a total length of more than 8 km. Many flower roads have been formed and have been marked with "garbage-free roads".
Women's associations in the village also guide members to classify household waste, separate organic waste, and recyclable plastic waste to facilitate collection and treatment. Every month, the associations collect all plastic waste to sell, earning tens of millions of VND. This money is used to give gifts to women's association members; school bags to students in difficult circumstances, etc. In recognition of the above achievements, the Women's Union of Tan Hung commune has been commended by all levels and sectors for many years. In 2025, the unit was awarded the Environmental Award by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Green business
Similarly, New Wing Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd., operating in the electronics sector in Van Trung Industrial Park (Viet Yen town), always upholds its responsibility to protect the environment. With a system of 42 factories, the company specializes in manufacturing devices such as headphones, connecting cables and battery chargers, reaching an output of nearly 600 million products in 2024. In the context of the Government promoting green transformation, optimizing energy and reducing carbon emissions become key factors in sustainable development. Responding to this trend, the company invests in a modern wastewater treatment system and applies renewable energy, contributing to reducing wastewater and limiting greenhouse gases. In particular, exploiting solar energy, creating a clean energy source helps significantly reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change.

Realizing its commitment to environmental protection, in December 2018, the Company completed a domestic wastewater treatment plant with advanced technology, with a total capacity of 900 m³/day and night. By October 2023, the unit continued to expand and improve the treatment capacity to help reuse water effectively, reducing the amount of wastewater from 441,733 m³/year to 79,266 m³/year. This system is simpler and easier to operate than traditional processes. Thanks to its fully automatic adjustment capability, this technology reduces operating labor.
In parallel, at the end of 2022, the Company launched a project to build a solar power system. In 2024, solar power output reached more than 4 million kWh, accounting for 24% of the total electricity consumption of the factory. This result has helped the Company reduce 2,876 tons of carbon emissions per year. At the same time, the application of renewable energy contributes to saving electricity costs, supporting the Company in building effective financial plans and improving sustainability in resource use. These efforts help businesses develop stably, demonstrate responsibility in protecting the environment and promoting a green economy . With the above results, this year, the Company was awarded the Environmental Award by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
This year, the province has 15 organizations and individuals who have been awarded the Environmental Award by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. The award focuses on praising and honoring collectives and individuals who have effective methods in waste treatment and waste reduction. This award is considered by the province every two years, each year 12-15 organizations and individuals are honored. |
