20 Vietnamese bodybuilders attend the world bodybuilding championship. The Vietnamese bodybuilding team has left for the 2024 world championship held in the Maldives with the goal of achieving the best results.

This is one of the biggest trips for Vietnamese bodybuilding with the mission of defending the 8 individual championships and the overall runner-up position won in Korea last year.

The coaching board of the Vietnam bodybuilding team selected the 20 best athletes, including 8 women and 12 men, to participate in the 2024 world championship held in the Maldives. On November 4, the bodybuilders of the Vietnam team set off for the competition.

At the 2024 World Championship, the Vietnamese bodybuilding team will participate in 25 events and aim to achieve the best results. Last year at the 2023 World Bodybuilding Championship, Vietnamese bodybuilding won 8 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals, so this year the athletes are aiming to achieve the above results. Some familiar faces of Vietnamese bodybuilding and fitness will participate in this tournament such as Dinh Thi Kim Loan, Nguyen Thi Kim Dung...

Apart from the unfortunate absence of veteran bodybuilder Pham Van Mach, the reigning world champion in the 55 kg category, due to personal reasons, all 7 world champions, including: Dinh Kim Loan (women's 55 kg bodybuilding), Nguyen Thi Kim Dung (women's classical bodybuilding, women's fitness, height 1.65 m), Bui Thi Thoa - Tran Hoang Duy Thuan (mixed bodybuilding pairs), Tran Bao Quoc Vuong (bodybuilding 65 kg), Ho Huy Binh (bodybuilding 70 kg) and Pham Van Phuoc (classical bodybuilding 1.7 m), all participated in the competition, determined to defend their rankings in this tour.

Before participating in the 2024 world championship, the athletes of the Vietnamese bodybuilding team competed in the 2024 national championship and were considered to have the most thorough professional preparation.

According to the schedule, the Vietnamese bodybuilding team must transit in Malaysia for 1 day before continuing to Maldives.

Members of the Vietnamese bodybuilding team are expected to arrive on November 5. This year’s tournament is the 15th time the World Bodybuilding Federation has organized the competition.

Within the framework of the tournament, the World Bodybuilding Federation will hold a meeting to elect the executive committee. The program of the tournament lasts until November 11.

In 2025, bodybuilding will not be included in the competition program of the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand, so Vietnamese bodybuilders will have professional preparations for competitions in Asia and the world./.
