Information from the Ministry of National Defense said that from April 3-4, 3,200 soldiers and militiamen in the parade force of the Ministry of National Defense moved to the South by train to prepare for the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification.

According to Thanh Nien, at around 6:30 p.m. on April 3 (2 hours before the first train departed), many relatives and families of the soldiers were present at Hanoi station to encourage and say goodbye to their children and siblings who were leaving for their missions. Best wishes, fresh bouquets of flowers, smiles and tears were all expressed by them in the short time before they left for their missions.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, was present at Hanoi Railway Station to see off the soldiers.
