4 schools under Ho Chi Minh City National University announced enrollment plan for 2025

Four schools under Ho Chi Minh City National University have announced their 2025 enrollment plans, including: University of Technology, University of Natural Sciences, University of Information Technology, and University of Economics and Law.

Polytechnic University uses 5 admission methods.

Method 1 is direct admission according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (1-5% of total enrollment target).

Method 2 is direct admission according to the admission regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University (10-15% of total enrollment quota). This method is applied to excellent and talented candidates from high schools (1 student in the group of 5 students with the highest average score of 3 years of high school recommended by the high school principal).

Method 3 is to consider candidates with international admission certificates or foreign candidates (1-5% of total enrollment quota).

Method 4 is admission based on high school results combined with interviews for candidates planning to study abroad (1-5% of total quota).

Method 5 is a comprehensive admission including criteria on academic ability (results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam, results of the high school graduation exam, results of high school study process); other abilities; social activities (75-90% of total quota).

For the comprehensive admission method , Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology plans to use 3 main components with fixed weights including: capacity assessment test scores accounting for 70%; high school graduation exam scores accounting for 20%; high school academic performance scores accounting for 10%. The above component scores are converted to a 90-point scale. In addition, bonus points (maximum 10 points) include: other learning abilities (5 points); social activities, literature, sports and arts (5 points).

University of Information Technology uses 3 admission methods. Method 1 is direct admission and priority admission. The school recruits directly according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training ; Excellent and talented candidates recommended by the principal of the high school who meet specific criteria such as good academic performance, good conduct, and outstanding achievements in study; Candidates on the list of 149 high schools that prioritize admission to Ho Chi Minh City National University (from 2026, priority will only be given to specialized/gifted students); Candidates who have won high prizes in prestigious exams (Informatics Olympiad, Road to Olympia, ICPC, SEA Games, ASIAD, ...); Candidates with prestigious international certificates (SAT, ACT, A level, IB) with satisfactory results.

Method 2 is to consider admission based on the score of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025. Admission score = Competency assessment exam score + Priority score (if any). In which, priority score includes international language certificates (IELTS, TOEFL iBT, JLPT, ...) and priority for subjects and regions according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University and the Ministry of Education and Training. Admission score is calculated on a scale of 1200.

Method 3 is to consider admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam. Admission score = High school graduation exam score of the admission subject group + Priority score (if any). In which, priority score includes international language certificates (IELTS, TOEFL iBT, JLPT) and priority for subjects and regions according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Admission score is calculated on a scale of 30.

In addition to the admission combinations as in 2024, the school added some new combinations with IT subjects such as Math - English - IT, Math - Physics - IT, in accordance with the new high school program of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The University of Natural Sciences uses 3 admission methods: Direct admission and priority admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, Ho Chi Minh City National University, combining international foreign language certificates with high school study results; Admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam; Admission based on the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's 2025 competency assessment exam. The school enrolls the first course of educational technology with a target of about 70 students. In addition, this university is building other interdisciplinary majors such as integrated science or land economics.

The University of Economics and Law enrolls students according to 3 admission methods: Direct admission and priority direct admission (up to 20% of total enrollment); Admission based on the results of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City National University Competency Assessment Exam (40 - 60% of total enrollment); Admission based on the results of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam (30% - 50% of total enrollment).
