4 national highways passing through Ho Chi Minh City have new names

On January 19, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the resolution on naming roads on National Highway 1, National Highway 1K, National Highway 22, and National Highway 50.

Accordingly, National Highway 1 from Thu Duc intersection (old Tram 2 intersection) to An Suong intersection is named Do Muoi Street.

National Highway 1, the section from An Suong intersection to An Lac roundabout, is named Le Duc Anh Street. National Highway 1, the section from An Lac roundabout to Long An province border, is named Le Kha Phieu Street.

National Highway 22, the section from National Highway 1 to An Ha Bridge, is named Le Quang Dao Street. National Highway 22, the section from An Ha Bridge to the border of Tay Ninh province, is named Phan Van Khai Street.

National Highway 50, the section from Nguyen Van Linh Street to Long An province border, is named Van Tien Dung Street.

National Highway 1K, the section from National Highway 1 to the border of Binh Duong province is named Hoang Cam Street.

Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said that naming the leaders of the Party, State and commanders of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign on national highways aims to honor their great contributions to the country, contribute to educating the historical and cultural traditions of the nation, and cultivate love for the homeland and country, and national pride of the people of Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Ms. Thuy, the naming of streets will directly and indirectly affect the lives of local people. Therefore, the city hopes that people and businesses will sympathize and share with state agencies in adjusting and updating relevant documents as soon as possible. State agencies will support people during the implementation process to limit disruption and impact on people's lives.

This morning, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also held a ceremony to name the April 30 Park in front of Thong Nhat Hall, District 1.
