(BLC) - On May 31, the Provincial Hospital of Traditional Medicine organized a program to examine and provide health care for the elderly in Lai Chau city.
Doctors and nurses from the Provincial Hospital of Traditional Medicine screen and provide health consultation to the elderly.
Accordingly, 400 elderly people were examined and screened by doctors and nurses, provided health consultations; and provided technical services combining Eastern and Western medicine such as ultrasound, diabetes testing, osteoporosis measurement, foot baths, foot steaming, and free medicine. The total cost of the program was over 100 million VND.
Long Chau pharmacy's pharmacist team supports the Provincial Hospital of Traditional Medicine in rapid diabetes testing for the elderly.
Specialist Doctor II Ta Xuan Dong - Director of the Provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital said: This is an annual activity organized by the unit every year to contribute to better health care for the elderly to improve longevity and quality of life; create motivation and confidence to help the elderly live happily, healthily and happily with their families.
This year's program, in addition to the hospital's own financial resources, we mobilized kind-hearted people and businesses in the city such as Tam Duong Tea Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Development and Investment Bank ( BIDV ) Lai Chau branch, Viettle Lai Chau, Duc Phong pharmacy, Long Chau pharmacy... to support cash, medicine, diabetes test to serve the medical examination and free medicine distribution for the elderly. In addition, there is also support from the youth union and police in Doan Ket ward in guiding and taking the elderly to medical examination rooms.
After the examination, the elderly are given free medicine.
