Hue is in the most beautiful season of the year when the weather is not cold, not hot, the rainy season is over, suitable for visiting destinations in and out of the city.
The 48-hour itinerary in Hue was carried out during the Tet holiday of Giap Thin, through the experience of Ms. Ha Tran (Hanoi) with a group of friends, Duc Hoang's consultant, tour guide and members of a tourism forum in Hue.
According to Ms. Ha, Hue is really a suitable place for a trip at the beginning of the year because this is the land of kings - the land of Dragons and suitable for those who love cuisine .
Day 1
Morning
Breakfast at My Tam Hue beef noodle restaurant on Tran Cao Van street.
"The restaurant is open during Tet so it is very convenient for tourists. The service is attentive and fast," said Ms. Ha. The tour guide said that this is also a noodle shop that many artists often visit when coming to Hue. A full bowl costs 60,000 VND. On weekdays, outside of Tet, tourists can visit some other famous noodle shops in Hue such as: Ba Tuyet, Hem, O Phuong, Me Roi.

The next morning trip is to visit the Imperial Citadel and the Museum of Royal Antiquities. Here, visitors can watch the changing of the guard in ancient times, wear traditional costumes, take photos in historical settings, and listen to explanations about the overall architecture of the palaces in the Imperial Citadel.
In particular, Kien Trung Palace is a must-see because it has just opened after more than 4 years of restoration. This used to be the workplace and living place of King Khai Dinh and King Bao Dai. The building is a fusion of Asian and European styles, including French architecture, Italian Renaissance architecture, and Vietnamese feudal royal architecture. The highlight is the art of decorative mosaics on porcelain. The door system is painted brightly in red and yellow tones, typical of the royal court.
"Going through the buildings are the king's resting, playing and sightseeing places, every place is beautiful and impressive," said Ms. Ha.

Another beautiful place to visit is An Hien garden house, built in the late 19th century, which was the residence of the 18th Princess of King Duc Duc. Recently, a private unit has taken over and exploited tourism. The ancient features here are fully preserved.
Lunch at An Nhien vegetarian restaurant.
According to Ms. Ha, An Nhien is like a garden decorated in French style but with a Buddhist feel. "The vegetarian dishes are presented in European style, delicious and the space is beautiful so you want to stay there forever," Ms. Ha said. The dishes include lotus seed fried rice, corn, mushrooms, grapefruit salad, mixed vegetarian rolls.
Afternoon
Visit the Gia Long King Tomb Complex. This place is like a big park, accessible by bicycle or electric car. The path to the king's tomb has many steps, when walking everyone has to pay attention to their steps, this is also the intention of the tomb builder, wanting visitors to bow their heads when arriving. "The two tombs are similar, but if you look closely, you will see that the roof edge on the king's side is slightly higher," said Mr. Hoang.
Near the tomb of King Gia Long, visitors will come to a famous check-in spot for young people, Thuy Tien Lake Water Park. The project has been abandoned since its completion. Because there is a lot of information saying that this place is about to be demolished, more and more people come here. This is where the famous dragon symbol is located, visitors can go inside the dragon's body to go up high to enjoy the view.
The Huyen Anh Nem Lui and Banh Uot restaurant on Kim Long Street is the place for a light dinner. Dishes include grilled pork vermicelli, grilled pork rice paper, and grilled nem with prices ranging from 30,000 VND to 60,000 VND per portion.
Evening
If this is your first time in Hue, you should go listen to royal court music on a dragon boat along the Perfume River. Tickets cost 100,000 VND per person for 30 minutes. You can also release floating lanterns to make wishes.
At the end of the day, visit the Western Quarter, located on the streets of Chu Van An - Nguyen Thai Hoc - Vo Thi Sau. "Hue's Western Quarter reminds people of Ta Hien in Hanoi, or Bui Vien in Ho Chi Minh City, also bustling but not too noisy," said Ms. Ha.
In the evening, tourists should stay at hotels along the Perfume River, which are not crowded, have beautiful scenery and are quiet. Room rates along the Perfume River range from 700,000 VND to about 4 million VND, depending on the type of hotel, resort and star rating.
Day 2
Morning and noon
Breakfast and enjoy salt coffee, a famous drink in Hue for over 10 years, now spreading throughout Vietnam. Address 142 Dang Thai Than, next to the Imperial Citadel, is considered the "birthplace" of this drink. Currently, most coffee shops in Hue serve salt coffee.
The next destination is also the place that Ms. Ha and the group members like the most - Tich Phuoc ancient village. The space is cool, peaceful, with the legend of Doi Temple, the craft of making pottery for the King, the experience of making pottery, making quai vac cakes and the peaceful scenery of the countryside.
"Rent a bicycle to ride around here, meet the locals and listen to them tell stories about the village," Ms. Ha suggested.
Ms. Thu, the owner of a beautiful, spacious and airy house in the village, was the one who prepared a home-cooked lunch for the group of guests from Hanoi. The meal included braised fish, sour bamboo shoot soup with catfish, boiled meat, and boiled morning glory, all delicious, fresh and clean. The highlight of the meal was fig salad with rice paper. There was also homemade carbonated hibiscus syrup.
Afternoon

Visit Huyen Khong Pagoda (Huyen Khong Son Thuong), located about 12 km from the center of Hue city, on the way from the ancient village of Tich Phuoc back to the city. Huyen Khong Pagoda is not as famous as Thien Mu, but is also a regular destination for tourists who do not like the hustle and bustle. The pagoda is located deep in the valley, among pine forests and hillsides, so it is always quiet.
Dinner at Chan restaurant on Nguyen Thai Hoc street.
"The restaurant is convenient to travel to because it is located right in the center, beautifully decorated, and has all the traditional dishes," said Ms. Ha. Dishes such as sour shrimp with boiled meat, grilled snakehead fish, mussel rice, and mussel porridge are chosen by many people. This is the place that most tourists visit when coming to Hue.
Alternatives
Local craft villages such as Thanh Tien paper flower workshop, folk painting workshop on Do paper in Sinh village, and Thuy Xuan incense village are other destinations that Ms. Ha suggests. "The beauty of Hue's landscape and people are not as gloomy as people think. The people are enthusiastic, caring, gentle and cheerful," Ms. Ha said.
