Europe - Vietnam's largest coffee market - is increasingly strict about quality and origin, requiring the restructuring trend of the agricultural sector to also be environmentally friendly.
The proactive, creative and high-tech application to control the quality of agricultural products from raw material areas to preliminary processing and product processing is being strongly applied in the Central Highlands.
Many coffee growers in the Central Highlands are willing to spend a lot of time improving the soil, raising grass, planting shade trees, and only using organic microbial fertilizers so that the coffee trees can grow naturally and sustainably. They patiently wait for the coffee to ripen red in unison before harvesting. Accepting a "slow" life and spending a lot of effort, many farmers still gain huge values when producing specialty coffee.
In the process of pursuing their passion for starting a business in agriculture, many farmers have also connected ethnic minorities in coffee growing areas to join the clean production chain. Thanks to that, in Gia Lai province, there are over 50,000 hectares of coffee, out of 100,000 hectares, that have achieved domestic and international quality certification.
The Central Highlands is a key coffee growing region with 650,000 hectares, accounting for more than 90% of the country's area and output. From coffee beans in the garden to processed products, most farmers are aiming to develop high-quality coffee to enhance the value of the national agricultural brand.
