This information was announced by the General Department of Taxation today (July 19).

According to the General Department of Taxation, one of the key tasks in the first 6 months of the year is that this agency has advised the Ministry of Finance and submitted to the Prime Minister to issue Directive No. 18/CT-TTg on promoting data sharing connection to serve e-commerce development, prevent tax loss, and ensure monetary security.

In the first 6 months of the year, Google, Facebook... paid 3,944 billion VND in taxes

Since the implementation of the Electronic Information Portal for Foreign Suppliers, up to now, 57 foreign suppliers have registered, declared and paid taxes via the Electronic Information Portal (including major foreign suppliers in the world such as: Google, Apple, Facebook, Netflix, TikTok, Microsoft).

In the first 6 months of 2023, the total tax declared and paid to the state budget by foreign suppliers was 3,944 billion VND.

Previously, on December 15, 2022, the General Department of Taxation officially operated the E-commerce Information Portal to receive information about organizations and individuals doing business on the e-commerce trading floor.

Up to now, the E-commerce Information Portal has recorded 333 e-commerce trading floors providing information, including many floors with large market shares such as: Shopee, Lazada, Sendo, Voso, Tiki...

How much tax does Vietnam collect from Facebook, Google and Microsoft? Regarding tax management for cross-border goods and services, the revenue from e-commerce through organizations in Vietnam declaring and paying taxes on behalf of others from 2018 to present has reached 5,588 billion VND.
