7 artists honored for their contributions to building, protecting and developing Ho Chi Minh City

On the morning of April 23, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a ceremony to honor outstanding individuals in the cause of building, protecting and developing Ho Chi Minh City (1975-2025), at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater.

Attending the program were: Mr. Truong Tan Sang, former Politburo member, former President; Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Vice President; Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Vo Viet Thanh, former Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc presented a plaque of honor to representative of composer Vien Chau.

The ceremony aims to recognize and pay tribute to the important contributions of outstanding individuals in the cause of building, protecting and developing Ho Chi Minh City from 1975 to 2025; at the same time, affirm the role and importance of outstanding individuals for the sustainable development of the city.

Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc presented honorary plaques to individual representatives.

The program honored 60 outstanding individuals with outstanding achievements and contributions to the community and society in various sectors and fields during the 50-year journey of building, protecting and developing Ho Chi Minh City.

Among them, the field of culture and art has the participation of famous names who have made many contributions to the community. They are: Mr. Huynh Tri Ba (famous musician Bay Ba, composer Vien Chau), painter Diep Minh Chau, Ms. Truong Phung Hao (People's Artist Phung Ha), professor Tran Van Khe, People's Artist Kim Cuong, musician Xuan Hong, musician Trinh Cong Son.

Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc paid tribute to the deceased outstanding individuals, representatives of the individuals' families received the gratitude plaque.

Among them, People's Artist Kim Cuong is the only individual who is still directly making many contributions to society through volunteer activities to support artists in difficult circumstances, and activities to pass on the "fire" of the profession to the next generation...

Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc presented a plaque of honor to the representative of the late musician Trinh Cong Son.

Honored to represent the late musician Trinh Cong Son, Ms. Trinh Vinh Trinh (the late musician's younger sister) could not hide her pride: "The tradition of patriotism and love of peace has been preserved and passed down through generations by my family. Being honored on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country is a source of great happiness and pride for my family."

The outstanding artists honored this time are not only outstanding individuals in the field of art but also those who have a heart for the cultural and artistic development of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.

Honoring them is a worthy recognition for their persistent and profound contributions over the past 50 years, contributing to reflecting, preserving and promoting the rich national cultural values, contributing to building the image of a dynamic, creative and humane city named after Uncle Ho.
