Attending the program were: General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Pham Van Tra, former member of the Politburo, former Minister of National Defense, former Commander of Military Region 3; Comrade Nguyen Duc Kien, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, former Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee; Hero of the People's Armed Forces Truong Thi Tam (Hung Yen province); Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of Military Region 3; Major General Luong Van Kiem, Commander of Military Region 3...
The opening of the program was the theatrical performance "Heroic Spirit from the Ancient Times" with the profound melody of "Mother of the Red River", arousing in the audience's pride in the sacred land - the origin of rice civilization and also the cradle of heroic revolutionary tradition.

The reportage “Epic from the Red River Delta” vividly recreates the history of formation and development of the armed forces of Military Region 3 – from the early days of the resistance war against French colonialism, the resistance war against the US to save the country, to the work of building and defending the Fatherland in peacetime.

During those 80 years, countless glorious victories have gone down in history: “Thunder Road 5”, “Fiery Cat Bi”, “Uprising Road 10”... Tens of thousands of soldiers of Military Region 3 fought and sacrificed heroically, contributing to the victory of Dien Bien Phu in 1954 and “Dien Bien Phu in the Air” in 1972, together with the whole country liberating the South and unifying the country. They are people who are “brave in storms, steadfast in peacetime, proud on the journey to the future”.
The emotional highlight of the program was the exchange with two historical witnesses: Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen The Tri, former Commander of Military Region 3, former Director of the National Defense Academy and People's Armed Forces Hero Truong Thi Tam, "female guerrilla Hoang Ngan", who used a carrying pole to fight the enemy on Phuong Tru dike ( Hung Yen ). Through simple but heroic stories, viewers relive a time when "every inch of land was a trench", where the strength of the people blended with the will of the soldiers.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen The Tri shared: “The image of a shoulder pole and a gun leaning against each other is a simple yet great symbol of military-civilian strength. It is this flesh-and-blood bond that has created legends in the history of the struggle of Military Region 3”. And Mrs. Truong Thi Tam emotionally shared: “When the enemy comes to our home, women also fight. The strength of our nation comes from the simplest things - from love for the homeland and love for our compatriots”.
Continuing that emotional flow, with two reports "Peacetime Shield"; "Military strength in the new era" and an exchange with Major General Luong Van Kiem, Commander of the Military Region; Colonel Bui Xuan Thang, Commander of the Hai Phong City Military Command, and professional soldier Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Thi Thuy, Nurse at Military Hospital 7, the female blue beret soldier who participated in the United Nations peacekeeping force in South Sudan clearly portrayed the image of the soldiers of Military Region 3 today. Whether in storms, epidemics or in faraway lands, they still maintain the spirit of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", ready to sacrifice for the people, for peace and happiness of humanity.

The program ended with the songs "The heart of a soldier", "Singing forever the military march", "The glory of the soldier of Military Region 3" conveying a profound humanistic message that the soldiers of Military Region 3 today not only protect the Fatherland but also bring the image of peace-loving Vietnam to friends around the world.
With the combination of reportage, dramatization and live exchange, the program "80 years of Military Region 3 - Epic from the Red River Delta" is not only an art night, but also a long song of gratitude, continuing and spreading the spirit of "Solidarity - Initiative - Creativity - Sacrifice - Victory" - the unchanging value that has created the heroic tradition of the armed forces of Military Region 3 over the past eight decades.
