The term "Troll" began to appear popularly in the late 1990s on online forums. The famous warning "Don't feed the troll" also appeared from this period, as advice not to respond to provocative behavior, in order to avoid feeding the troublemaker.
There is a theory that the real origin of the word "Troll" comes from the term "Trolling", which is often used to describe the fishing technique of dragging a bait slowly behind the boat, luring fish to bite the hook. Some analysts also say that this word means "giant" or "ugly dwarf".

Meanwhile, according to Norse mythology around the 16th-17th centuries, the word "troll" was used to refer to supernatural, giant, hostile creatures that often lived in mountains and forests.
As social networks develop, this word has become more and more widespread, even becoming an online trend. Vietnamese youth today use the word "troll" to refer to someone who intentionally causes trouble, teases, causes controversy to provoke reactions from others or annoys others to attract attention.
