The above information was shared by Mr. Nghiem Van Binh, Head of the Examination Management and Quality Assurance Department ( Hanoi Department of Education and Training), at the Conference on instructions for invigilation of the 10th grade entrance exam, held on the morning of June 3, organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

Mr. Binh summarized the notable changes in the 10th grade exam in 2025 in Hanoi, including: no more specialized subjects in chemistry, physics, biology, history, and geography. Instead, there will be natural science with knowledge content for candidates taking the exam for specialized classes in physics, chemistry, and biology; history and geography for candidates taking the exam for specialized classes in history and geography.
Regarding the test format, candidates taking the natural science exam will do the test directly on the test paper. In previous years, only foreign language exams were done this way.
The test time for all specialized subjects is 150 minutes. Thus, chemistry and foreign languages increase by 30 minutes compared to previous years.
Items candidates are allowed to bring into the exam room: pens, rulers, pencils, erasers, squares, graphing rulers, drawing tools, handheld calculators without word processing function, no memory cards.
Compared to last year, the list adds drawing tools and graphing rulers; removes geographic atlas, periodic table, and solubility table (used in chemistry).
Candidates are not prohibited from bringing items into the exam room such as watches, water bottles, etc., but must ensure that these items do not contain devices or documents used to cheat on exams.

After 5 minutes, candidates are responsible for the exam.
Mr. Binh also noted that candidates must be reminded twice to check their registration number, information on the exam paper, and the test code on the multiple-choice answer sheet. Once before taking the test, and once 5 minutes before submitting the test. This regulation has just been added to this year's exam.
Some remaining changes are related to the responsibilities of the invigilators, such as how to distribute the exam questions, how to draw lots to number the candidates, seal and preserve the exam questions...
Mr. Binh requested that teachers strictly follow the regulations and principles of exam supervision, not be negligent or subjective, and not arbitrarily handle situations, and emphasized: "All feedback on exam questions and unusual incidents in the exam room must be immediately reported to the head of the exam site, through the supervisor."
For candidates who violate the level of reprimand or warning, a record must be made, but the candidate must still be allowed to continue taking the test; the test result will be deducted according to the regulations on the level of violation, and the candidate must not be suspended or lose time taking the test.
Mr. Binh reminded candidates to write down their registration numbers, carefully check the number of pages, the quality of the print, and the test code. If they discover any abnormalities in the test (torn, missing pages, damaged printing, blurred...), candidates must immediately report to the invigilator, no later than 5 minutes from the time the test is scheduled.
"After these 5 minutes, if candidates do not report anything, they will be responsible for the exam questions they receive," Mr. Binh emphasized.
Candidates are allowed to submit their papers after 2/3 of the time has passed for the essay test. When collecting the papers, the invigilator must absolutely not let candidates write wrongly, fill in the wrong registration number, or forget to sign when submitting their papers, etc.
