Vietnamese water puppetry creates fever in Japan

Within the framework of the 17th Vietnam Festival in Japan, artists from the Thang Long Water Puppetry Theatre - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism brought many impressive art performances with the theme of Vietnam - Japan Friendship.

The art program is divided into 2 parts. Part 1 is puppetry performances: Teu giao tro, Mua rong, Em be herding buffalo playing the flute... with the participation of Meritorious Artist Thanh Hien, Meritorious Artist Duc Hung, Meritorious Artist Le Thu Huyen...

Japanese audiences enjoy Vietnamese water puppet shows.

Part 2 is a program of traditional music and dance: puppetry and Vietnamese monochord (singer Huyen Trang with a group of men and women), Red Ban Flower (Tran Hau with a group of men and women), The Little Girl of the Upper Realm (Mai Hien), T'rung - Krongput ensemble Spring Comes - The Bird Brings Good News (Huyen Trang, Lan Anh, Tran Hau).

Meritorious Artist Tran Thanh Hien - Director of Thang Long Puppetry Theater said that in addition to the strength of puppetry, the artists also bring other art forms such as Chau Van, Dan Bau ensemble, and T'rung, which are staged in a modern way but do not lose the cultural values of Vietnam.

Artists bring the quintessence of traditional puppetry art to the Vietnam Festival in Japan.

"The participation of Thang Long Water Puppetry Theatre at this festival once again affirms the position of Vietnamese water puppetry in the international arena, contributing to promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam. This is not only an annual cultural exchange activity but also the orientation of the Hanoi Party Committee on the development of cultural industry and foreign affairs activities," said Meritorious Artist Tran Thanh Hien.

The opening performance in Hokkaido attracted a large number of Japanese audiences to enjoy and express their special love for Vietnamese art. In the coming days, the artists will continue to perform in Tokyo, continuing their mission of spreading the spirit of friendship and Vietnamese cultural identity to international friends.
