On the last day of the journey back to the source, the HCM City artists visited the Military Commission base - the command of the armed forces of the Liberation Army of South Vietnam (Ta Thiet) - a national historical relic site. She confided about a journey without stage lights, without cameras, but full of emotions and values.

"I am very honored to be present on the trip to the source called "Following the footsteps of the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising", organized by the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. The trip passed through the provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Binh Phuoc, and places associated with the Ho Chi Minh campaign such as Xuan Loc (Dong Nai), Ta Thiet base. For me, this is not only a trip to the source but also a "living historical studio", where every step suggests a potential role".
Untouched memories
Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu is a veteran of Ho Chi Minh City theater and television, familiar to audiences through her roles as mothers with many layers of emotion. But when standing in front of the historic tank at the Buon Ma Thuot intersection, or stopping at the Ta Thiet base - where the last orders were given before advancing to Saigon - she was moved as if reading a new chapter of history for the first time.
"I have played roles related to war and national pain. But only when I saw with my own eyes and touched the red land, and heard the stories of soldiers from the past, did I understand what "Untouched Memories" means. History is no longer a backdrop, but a silent co-star of emotions" - she confided.

For an actress who has successfully portrayed many characters from stage to screen like Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu, genuine emotions are the core of acting. And the journey through the Central Highlands and Southeast provinces has become her valuable material, not to recreate history in the old way, but to live with history with the breath of today's people.
"I imagined a mother character - maybe a rear guard, a person waiting for her children, a person hiding cadres, a person who lost her husband in the 1975 Spring campaign. In Kon Tum , I saw an old woman from an ethnic minority telling the story of her husband joining the army and not returning. At that time, I cried. And I knew I would bring that image into my future roles. No need for drama, just a quiet look is enough to haunt."

For Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu, true art does not lie in spectacular transformations, but in the depth of life experiences. The roles that have weight are those that are nurtured by a journey of empathy with people and the past.
"After the role of Mrs. Hien - a mother who worries about her child's future, because she is illiterate, she wishes her child will be successful in life. Or when I played the role of Mrs. Sau who lost her child in the play "Fire Field" of Quoc Thao Drama Theater, talking about the heroic sacrifice of 32 frontline workers who heroically sacrificed in the 1968 battle by author Ngoc Truc, I thought of the heroic historical memories of this trip. Through the places that were once stained with blood, I realized that history is never an old story. Every role I accept later, whether it is a mother, a wife, or an unknown character in the middle of the war, needs to be built on the foundation of historical truth".

Value trip
Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu shared her wish to bring the spirit of this trip into future artistic projects, which could be stage, television or even just a small monologue in a program. "I don't need a big role, I need the right role. A role that can help today's audience calm down and understand why this country stands firm, reborn from blood and tears. This trip gives me more than material - it gives me a mission." The journey "Following the footsteps of the General Offensive and Uprising in Spring 1975" is not just a return to the past.

For Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu, it is a journey that opens a new door to creativity - where art is closely linked to history and the role is not just a job, but a responsibility.
Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu is still enthusiastically participating in many new roles on the stage: Hoang Thai Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City Small Stage Drama Theater and participating in roles on the small screen HTV, the big screen and also charity activities. She won the Mai Vang award voted by readers of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper for the role of Ha in the play "Doi Bo" in 2008.
