At the ceremony marking ACB's partnership with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in social welfare programs, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, assessed that ACB's financial contribution to these activities demonstrates the bank's affection and concern for the city's residents.
"Thanks to ACB's contributions, in the future, its participation in social welfare programs in Ho Chi Minh City can be expanded to the entire society," Ms. Thuy said.
Associate Professor Tran Hoang Ngan, Assistant to the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, said that to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1974 – April 30, 2025), the city is implementing many social welfare activities, especially environmental protection, including placing waste sorting bins in schools; supporting disadvantaged families, athletes, etc.
According to Mr. Ngan, ACB's collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in carrying out social welfare work will be of great significance as the whole country prepares to celebrate the Liberation Day of Southern Vietnam on April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025.
ACB's collaboration with government agencies in community support activities demonstrates the bank's active commitment to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility of creating sustainable social values under the letter "S" (Social) in its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainable development strategy.
On its pioneering journey in implementing ESG, under the guidance of the State Bank of Vietnam , ACB not only focuses on business activities but also aims for sustainable development, in line with the banking sector's action plan under the national strategy on green growth for the period 2021-2030.
In fulfillment of that commitment, in addition to announcing the Sustainable Finance Framework which sets standards for operations in the green finance sector, ACB proactively increased its Green/Social credit package from VND 2,000 billion to VND 4,000 billion by the end of September 2024.
