The delegation included: Doan Van Dong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Duy Tan, Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion of Ho Chi Minh City; Nguyen Cong Tam, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; and Phung Thai Quang, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor.

At the Bishop's Residence in Ba Ria, the delegation visited and congratulated Bishop Emmanuel Nguyen Hong Son, Bishop of the Diocese of Ba Ria; Father Joseph Dinh Phuoc Dai, Dean of Ba Ria and Parish Priest of Phuoc Hung Parish; Father Joseph Nguyen Van Loc, Chief of the Office of the Bishop's Residence in Ba Ria; and Father Joseph Nguyen Cong Luan, Parish Priest of the Cathedral Parish in Ba Ria.
Comrade Van Thi Bach Tuyet highly appreciated the positive contributions of Catholic dignitaries and compatriots in accompanying the government, organizing many social welfare activities, and actively participating in patriotic emulation movements.

On behalf of the Ho Chi Minh City leadership, Vice Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Van Thi Bach Tuyet wished the bishops, priests, and all parishioners good health, a peaceful Christmas season, a happy New Year, and continued success in achieving new accomplishments.

Sharing at the meeting, Comrade Van Thi Bach Tuyet informed that Ho Chi Minh City is implementing the Resolution of the First Party Congress. This includes focusing on investing in urban infrastructure development; addressing key issues such as flooding, traffic congestion, air pollution, and building a drug-free city...
In that spirit, he hoped that the bishops and priests would encourage their parishioners to cooperate and support the city in successfully implementing solutions and tasks; contributing to improving the quality of life for the people and providing timely care for vulnerable groups. At the same time, he urged continued coordination with local authorities to implement solutions aimed at building a healthy living environment free from social vices in residential areas.

In response, Bishop Nguyen Hong Son respectfully thanked the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City for their concern and kind wishes; and affirmed that they will always unite, love, and work together to build Ho Chi Minh City into an increasingly developed, civilized, modern, and compassionate city.
