Impressions of Vietnamese-American players wearing U22 Vietnam jersey

(NLDO) - In the closed practice match between U22 Vietnam and the national team on June 4, Vietnamese-American striker Bui Alex impressed with his maturity in the match.

Bui Alex was first called up to the Vietnam U22 team to prepare for the U23 Asian qualifiers as well as the 33rd SEA Games. Although only 19 years old, the Vietnamese-American striker showed confidence and professionalism from his lifestyle to his training and competition.

U22 Vietnam strengthens training to aim for tournaments in 2025

In the practice match between U22 Vietnam and the national team, Bui Alex played for about 30 minutes and impressed his teammates and the coaching staff. He played as a winger, moved flexibly, knew how to connect and coordinate with teammates and completed the assigned tasks well.

Bui Alex was born in 2005 in Prague (Czech Republic), is 1.78m tall, and plays as an attacking midfielder, winger, and striker. This player is considered to have good technique, speed, ball control and passing ability, and effective finishing with both feet. He has been a key striker for many years in Czech youth teams.

Bui Alex integrated quickly and was very mature when working side by side with his seniors.

Before returning to Vietnam to play for the national U22 team, Alex scored 2 goals for Bohemians B Club in the Czech Third Division in 2025. Bui Alex did not know much about Vietnamese football as well as his domestic colleagues, only knowing that in the national U22 team there was a Vietnamese-Russian player named Viktor Le.

Alex and Viktor soon became friends in the Vietnam U22 team because of their similar situation. Through his senior who is playing for Ha Tinh Club, Alex quickly integrated and caught up with the general playing style of the national U22 team.

Although the two overseas Vietnamese strikers have not shown much in the 1-2 loss to the Vietnamese team, they are considered key players of the U22 Vietnam team in important international tournaments in 2025. Besides, Alex needs to show his talent and score points with coach Kim to be able to compete for a place with his veteran seniors.

Adding new players like Bui Alex will also help increase the depth of the team, while affirming the proactive integration strategy and finding quality overseas Vietnamese players for Vietnamese football.
