
The terraced fields of the Hill Region are known as one of the most beautiful landscapes of Phu Tho province. On the gentle hillsides, the terraced fields of the Hill Region are not only a testament to the creativity of the Muong people in farming but also a valuable natural resource, bearing the mark of indigenous culture.
This is an important factor in forming a type of agricultural -ecological tourism experience, helping tourists join the locals in planting, harvesting, milling, pounding rice or enjoying the cuisine of the mountainous region.

This is an important cultural- tourism event to preserve and promote the value of terraced fields, honor the art of Muong gong performance, folk singing, "Celebrating new rice" ritual, and typical dishes and products of the Muong people.
The festival is also an opportunity to promote the local image, contributing to the development of community tourism, towards the goal of building Thuong Coc into a "Unique - Safe - Friendly" destination.

The 2025 Hilly Terraced Field Festival, with many unique activities such as: New Rice Celebration Ceremony (rice procession) with the participation of about 200 delegates, artisans and people; live art programs recreating the working life, terraced field cultivation and agricultural culture of the Muong people; Muong gong performance with 200 artisans who are women members of the hamlets, expressing the typical sound space of Muong culture in the middle of the terraced fields; folk games such as playing bamboo sticks, volleyball; cultural exchange with singing and dancing performances praising the homeland, Uncle Ho, and Muong folk songs; display of OCOP booths and typical agricultural products, food court and rural market, attracting the participation of many communes in the region along with local cooperatives and businesses.

Mr. Bui Van Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Coc Commune, said that the organization of the Hill Terraced Field Festival in Thuong Coc Commune in 2025 is not only an opportunity to honor the cultural and historical values of the Muong people, but also a step to affirm the right direction in tourism development associated with preserving identity, preserving the hill agricultural ecological space, contributing to creating momentum for local socio-economic development.
The festival runs until October 26.
