Anh Vien and A-List cast create highlights in Phu Quoc

This year’s season saw a nearly 25% increase in the number of Vietnamese athletes compared to 2024, demonstrating the strong resilience of the domestic endurance sports community. More than 2,000 athletes from 60 countries created a world-class race, reinforcing the position of Phu Quoc Marina and the Pearl Island as an ideal destination for the IRONMAN movement in Asia.

2025 also marks the 10th anniversary of IRONMAN's presence in Vietnam, a journey that has witnessed the growth of the triathlon movement and the enduring commitment of the athlete community.

In the men’s category, Kenshin Mizushima (Japan) continued his outstanding form. After his victory in Da Nang , he reclaimed the title in Phu Quoc with a time of 04:06:55, leading both the 18-24 age group and the A-List category. Alex Thio (Singapore) finished second in 04:15:15, while Marcel van Oudtshoorn (Germany) was third in 04:22:20.

The women's division witnessed a convincing title defense by Ling Er Choo (Singapore) with a time of 04:48:04. Hannah Gibson (Australia) and Hanh Nguyen (Vietnam) completed the podium respectively.

This year’s tournament marked the appearance of many special faces. Legendary Mark Allen, 6-time IRONMAN World Championship champion, unexpectedly returned to compete in the relay event, creating an iconic moment for the Vietnamese IRONMAN community.

“Golden swimmer” Anh Vien also returned strongly, winning second place in the women's category at SUNRISE SPRINT Vietnam and continuing to finish second in the men's and women's relay in Phu Quoc.

A-List athletes such as Kenshin Mizushima, Ling Er Choo, Hannah Gibson and Le Nhat Tai continue to be the professional support and great inspiration for the Vietnamese triathlon movement.

Kenshin Mizushima shared after the victory: “Returning to Phu Quoc after 2023, I set a higher goal and am happy to continue to maintain the best form. The cheers of the audience and the professional organization helped me break through to the end.”

IRONMAN 70.3 Phu Quoc 2025 ended with the mark of a well-rounded tournament, affirming Vietnam's position on the Asian endurance sports map.
