“Apple Intelligence” probably won’t be available alongside the public releases of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 in September. However, users probably won’t have to wait too long.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is expected to introduce "Apple Intelligence" with iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1, which are expected to launch in October.
Meanwhile, beta versions of these updates, which include some AI (artificial intelligence) features, are said to be ready for developers to start testing as early as this week.
“Apple Intelligence” won’t be fully featured at first. Some features, like AI-powered Siri, are expected to arrive later in the year. Gurman said those updates could even be delayed until next year.
“Apple Intelligence” will not be compatible with all iPhones that support iOS 18 when it is officially released. Apple has announced that the feature requires a device with an A17 Pro processor or an M-series chip. This means that all other iPhone models will not support this feature except for the current iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max and the upcoming iPhone 16 series.
