At the Parc des Princes, PSG scored 2 goals thanks to Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi. Bukayo Saka was the only player to score for Arsenal in this match.

After the match, Arteta caused controversy by claiming that Arsenal were the better team in both legs. He said: "Congratulations to PSG for reaching the final. I will have a more objective assessment when I calm down, but I feel like we played much better than them."

The Spaniard added: "In both games, the best player on the pitch was their goalkeeper (Gianluigi Donnarumma). He made the difference in the game. We were very close to winning. Unfortunately, Arsenal were eliminated."

Arteta's comments quickly drew criticism from fans, with many saying his comments were unrealistic. One fan commented: "What are you talking about? Arsenal couldn't have been the better team in both games."

Another wrote: "What a disgraceful interview from Arteta. It was hard to listen to." Many mocked the Spanish coach, saying that "Arteta is unrealistic and doesn't know how to accept defeat."

Arsenal created plenty of chances in the second leg against PSG, with 19 shots in total. But poor finishing cost them dearly. The lack of a true striker has hurt Arsenal all season. The Gunners finished the 2024/25 campaign without winning any trophies.

Goals in the match Arsenal was held to a draw by Palace. Early morning of April 24, Arsenal was held to a 2-2 draw by Crystal Palace in round 34 of the Premier League.
