Three destinations in Vietnam are among the world's top 100 best cities for walking

The latest review from GuruWalk has released a list of the 100 best cities in the world to explore on foot. Among them, Vietnam has three destinations ranked.

The list of the world's 100 best cities for walking is based on booking and search data for 800 cities across 120 countries made on UK-based site GuruWalk between April 2023 and April 2024.

According to the survey, Spain is the most walkable country with 28 cities in the top 100. France has 7 while the UK has 3 cities, along with Poland, Colombia and Vietnam. Only one US city makes the list.

Vietnam has three destinations ranked, including Hanoi at 42nd, Hoi An at 87th and Ho Chi Minh City at 99th. This demonstrates the attractiveness of these cities for exploring on foot and attracting interest from tourists.

Hanoi is considered one of the most visited destinations in Asia, with the Old Quarter being the highlight. Exploring famous sites such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, War Museum, One Pillar Pagoda, Dong Xuan Market, Temple of Literature and Hoan Kiem Lake are unique experiences that tourists can enjoy in Hanoi.

Hoi An attracts tourists by the combination of the ancient town and the typical villages of the Central region, allowing to explore the indigenous culture in a special way. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City is an interesting place with a vibrant, energetic atmosphere, especially in exploring street food and urban landscape.
