Bringing the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the Government Party Committee into depth

On the afternoon of August 5, the Steering Committee 35 of the Government Party Committee held its first conference to comprehensively evaluate the results of its activities in the past time, orient the direction and key tasks in the coming time, and ask for opinions from the Steering Committee members on a number of major and important plans related to the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation. Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, Head of the Steering Committee 35 of the Government Party Committee chaired the conference.

The Steering Committee 35 of the Government Party Committee was established by a decision of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee. The Steering Committee is chaired by the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee and Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh ; its members are key leaders of ministries, agencies, and Party organizations under the Government Party Committee.

Immediately after its establishment, the Steering Committee 35 of the Government Party Committee promptly reorganized its structure, developed working regulations, and gradually began operating in a systematic and organized manner. In the spirit of "steadfastness, consistency, proactiveness, sensitivity, timeliness, and effectiveness," the Steering Committee advised on and implemented many key tasks, contributing to deepening the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation within the Government Party Committee.

The Steering Committee has developed and promulgated its operational regulations, clearly defining the roles, functions, and responsibilities of each member and supporting department; maintaining a regular meeting schedule, assigning focal points to monitor various fields and information channels, thereby promptly detecting and handling false and hostile information related to the Government, Party and State leaders, and sensitive issues of public concern, especially in the fields of health, education, food safety, and cyber fraud.

In particular, the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods production and trading, and intellectual property infringement is identified as a key, ongoing, and continuous task, with no forbidden areas and no exceptions. This is a political requirement, reflecting the decisive leadership of the Party Secretary and the Prime Minister, with the overarching principle: "Every day is a peak period," while also hoping that every citizen will be both a soldier in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement, and a smart consumer in the market…

The Deputy Prime Minister noted: Combating harmful narratives requires a specialized force. A broad and astute team of collaborators and experts should be built, possessing both strong character and a firm grasp of the issues, as well as technological proficiency.

The Steering Committee 35 of the Party Committees under its direct supervision has strengthened and built a core team, in which reporters, editors, and collaborators have played a proactive and pioneering role in cyberspace, directly refuting false information and spreading positive information, building social trust in the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State. Media products are in-depth, sharp, and accurately reflect ideological orientation, spreading across many social media and press platforms, contributing to "greening information" and maintaining trust among cadres, Party members, workers, and the people.

In the coming period, the Steering Committee 35 of the Government Party Committee will focus on implementing several key tasks such as: the Plan of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee to implement Conclusion No. 89-KL/TW of the Politburo on strengthening the work of protecting the ideological foundation of the Party and combating erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation;

Establishing specialized teams within the Steering Committee to enhance the effectiveness of leadership, management, and implementation of tasks in accordance with the requirements of the new situation; planning to build communication channels for the Steering Committee on social media platforms, internal digital infrastructure, and coordinating with the government's press and media system, thereby proactively dominating the online space, disseminating official information, and guiding public opinion;

The plan includes inspecting the work of protecting the ideological foundation of subordinate Party organizations in 2025; managing cadres, civil servants, and public employees in cyberspace; and building a force for on-site counter-arguments…

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh acknowledged the initial efforts and contributions of the Steering Committee 35 at all levels within the Party and Government in the context of the increasing emergence of harmful and toxic information, sophisticated subversive tactics targeting the Party's ideological foundation and the Government's leadership and administration.

The Deputy Prime Minister clearly stated the overarching spirit of the Steering Committee's 10 tasks: "greening positive information, strengthening the resilience of cadres, Party members, and the people, and sharply combating negative narratives." The goal is to strengthen the dissemination of official information quickly and promptly, reflecting the pulse of life, the achievements of the country, and the leadership and policies of the Party and State.

At the same time, we must strengthen political and ideological education, enhance the "resistance" of cadres, Party members, civil servants, and workers throughout the Party organization, and be vigilant and discerning when using social media, thus developing "immunity" against harmful and toxic information.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, combating harmful propaganda requires a specialized force. A broad and astute team of collaborators and experts should be built, possessing both strong character and a firm grasp of the issues, as well as technological proficiency. The Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department should research policies to reward, protect, train, and nurture this force, as they are the vanguard on the ideological front.

"The Party Committee of the Government has entrusted both the Steering Committee and each of its members with a great responsibility in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and refuting false and hostile narratives. All of you are key leading officials of ministries, Party committees, agencies, especially media organizations, so the activities of the Steering Committee are also core activities of information, communication, and press agencies," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated clearly: The Steering Committee 35 of the Government Party Committee and the Steering Committees 35 at all levels within the Government Party Committee will continue to improve quality, closely following the direction and guidance of the Central Steering Committee 35, functional agencies, and subordinate Party organizations.

With the upcoming First Congress of the Party Committee of the Government and the 14th National Congress of the Party, a crucial period, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized that the Steering Committee 35 of the Government Party Committee and the Steering Committees 35 at all levels within the Government Party Committee must continue to improve quality, closely follow the guidance and direction of the Central Steering Committee 35, relevant agencies, and subordinate Party organizations; build a mechanism for detecting, handling, and disseminating information; and proactively grasp the ideological situation and sentiments of cadres, Party members, and workers, especially in complex and sensitive cases that attract public attention.

It is necessary to continue strengthening the organization of training courses, seminars, and thematic activities on protecting the ideological foundation, linked to studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh, implementing regulations on the exemplary responsibility of cadres and Party members, and fulfilling the political tasks of each agency, unit, and enterprise.

Continue to promote the role of press and media agencies under the Party Committee and the Government. Strengthen the communication of policies, positive information, inspiring stories, exemplary achievements, in-depth and insightful theoretical and practical articles, and strongly refute false narratives.
