On the afternoon of September 16, a representative of Thu Duc General Hospital (HCMC) issued an urgent notice to find relatives for a seriously ill elderly woman.
Previously, at 11:15 a.m. on September 12, the hospital's Emergency Department received an elderly woman who was brought in by a neighbor living in the same boarding house in a state of fatigue and difficulty breathing. The patient was immediately given emergency treatment.
Afterwards, the Social Work Department of Thu Duc General Hospital met and learned about the patient's information. The old woman said that she sold corn at Thu Duc market and stayed in Linh Dong ward. She had two children but could not remember exactly where they lived, only that they "lived far away".
According to information on the citizen identification card, the patient's name is Nguyen Thi Lanh, born in 1951, permanent residence at Street 40, Linh Dong Ward (old Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City).

Through examination and paraclinical tests, the patient was diagnosed with sepsis and acute kidney failure. Currently, the old lady is conscious and able to communicate. However, due to poor health, she cannot walk or take care of herself. Therefore, a relative is needed to support the patient at this time.
"The Social Work Department, Thu Duc General Hospital would like to inform that anyone who is a relative of the above patient or has any information about the patient, please come to the Internal Medicine Department or contact the Department via phone number 096.253.4646.
To help patients overcome this difficult period and soon find their relatives, we look forward to receiving the community's cooperation in sharing information," said Thu Duc General Hospital.
Previously, at the end of August, Thu Duc General Hospital also announced that a strange person had created a fake fanpage and posted articles with signs of profiteering.
Specifically, the fake fanpage used the name of Thu Duc General Hospital, as well as the hospital's official address, phone number and website to post articles calling for financial contributions.
One post included a picture of a child, with the caption: "Please help Tam who had an accident and is currently receiving brain surgery." Below the post was a personal bank account number and directed viewers to transfer money.
Thu Duc General Hospital determined that the above fanpage had taken advantage of the reputation of this place to cause public confusion, affecting the image and trust of the people.
The hospital affirms that it does not carry out any charity calling activities through unofficial Facebook fanpages; does not authorize any individuals or organizations to solicit sponsorships, without public announcement on the hospital's official media channels.
"Thu Duc General Hospital recommends that people be vigilant, not provide personal information, not share, and especially not transfer money to accounts linked from fake fanpages," the above unit informed.
