Ba Ria - Vung Tau: Training to raise awareness on water resources management and use

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Head of Department of Natural Resources Management, Institute of Environment and Resources ( Ho Chi Minh City National University) shared at the Conference.

The objective of the Conference is to disseminate knowledge about natural resources to help managers better understand their responsibilities and obligations in implementing legal regulations on the environment and natural resources; State policies and laws on environmental protection; management, exploitation and economical use of natural resources..., thereby raising the spirit and responsibility in law enforcement, limiting violations of the law, contributing to the implementation of sustainable development goals, environmental protection in the face of climate change, rising sea levels and water resource depletion in the province.

At the Conference, in addition to disseminating the Law on Water Resources 2012, amended in 2023; Decree No. 02/2023/ND-CP of the Government detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Water Resources; Decree No. 36/2020/ND-CP stipulating administrative sanctions for violations in the field of water resources and minerals...; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Head of the Department of Natural Resources Management, Institute of Environment and Resources (Ho Chi Minh City National University) also shared about the situation of exploitation and use of water resources in Ba Ria Vung Tau province and the current shortcomings in the State management of water resources; at the same time, clearly stated the harmful effects of overexploitation of water resources as well as prohibited acts in the exploitation and use of water resources; authority to sanction violations in the field of water resources; guidance on a number of measures to protect and use water resources reasonably and effectively in the coming time.

It is known that after this Conference, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province will continue to organize a training conference to propagate and raise awareness of management and use of natural resources for officials and civil servants of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of districts, towns, cities and officials of People's Committees of communes, wards and towns, in order to raise awareness of natural resources in the management apparatus at all levels and in the community. Thereby, creating a strong change in the awareness and actions of businesses and people in environmental protection; and proactively coordinating with local authorities in the management and use of natural resources to ensure rationality... in the coming time.
