Agricultural - forestry - fishery production
According to Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee Duong Van Chuong, in the first 6 months of 2025, agricultural, forestry and fishery production in the district was stable. The district has focused on preventing saltwater intrusion in the area. The value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production reached 3,367 billion VND, reaching 41.24% of the resolution target.
Industrial and handicraft production activities in the district are stable. The industrial production value is estimated at 1,389 billion VND, reaching 46.73% of the resolution, up 53.01% over the same period. The area planted for the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring rice crop is 7,474 hectares; the estimated yield is 5.6 tons/ha, the output is 41,895 tons, reaching 49.3% of the resolution in terms of area, 51.6% of the resolution in terms of output. The area for growing vegetables is about 900 hectares, the output is 13,300 tons. The coconut tree area is 5,077 hectares, the harvested output is 20,000 fruits, reaching 46.1% of the resolution. The district has bred and released 460,500 parasitic wasps and 11.5 million parasitic wasps, helping to control black-headed coconut worms; The whole district currently has 15.1 hectares of coconut trees infected with black headed caterpillar.
Livestock and poultry farming is stable, no dangerous diseases occur in livestock herds. The price of cattle products is 18.5 million VND/quintal of pure meat. The price of pigs is 7.5 million VND/quintal of fresh meat. The price of Charolais, BBB super meat bulls... is from 15 - 18 million VND/head; the price of breeding cows is 12 - 14 million VND/head. The total herd of dairy cows is 1,067, the milk output sold to the Milk Collection Station of Vinamilk Dairy Company and the Milk Collection Point of Dutch Lady Dairy Company in An Binh Tay commune is 5,500 kg/day, with the selling price of 11,000 - 16,700 VND/kg of fresh milk.
The 2024-2025 salt production season is 817 hectares. Up to now, the harvested output is about 6 thousand tons, the selling price is from 55 - 60 thousand VND/bushel. The total aquaculture area is 4,010/5,047 hectares; of which, the intensive shrimp farming area is now 659/1,600 hectares, reaching 41.19% of the resolution, down 30.6% over the same period. The total aquatic product output (aquaculture and exploitation) is estimated at 82,034 tons, reaching 50.33% of the resolution, up 3.3% over the same period. Currently, the whole district has 1,378 fishing vessels with a length of 15m or more that are required to install voyage monitoring equipment. Up to now, 1,368 vessels have been installed; Of which, 100% of vessels over 24m in length have been equipped with equipment (179/179 vessels), fishing vessels 15 - 24m in length are 1,187/1,199 vessels, reaching 99% (there are 10 vessels that have not been equipped with equipment and are currently inactive with their anchorage locations determined). For inactive vessels, the Commune People's Committee and Ham Luong Border Guard Station coordinate to regularly monitor and supervise.
Trade and service development
The estimated value of trade and services is 4,910 billion VND, reaching 48.32% of the Resolution. Market prices before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025 are relatively stable. Goods for Tet are guaranteed, smooth transportation meets people's travel needs. Tourist attractions focus on implementing promotional activities to attract domestic and foreign visitors during the Lunar New Year. The district has organized for production, business units and cooperatives to participate in the "Industry, Trade and Cuisine Fair of the Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025" in Ben Tre City.
The whole district has 343/500 newly registered business households, reaching 68.64% of the plan, up 6.58% over the same period, bringing the total number of business households to 7,356. There are 14 newly established enterprises, reaching 46.67% of the plan, up 40% over the same period, bringing the total number of 318 operating enterprises, 76 branches. Establishing the Ba Tri Union of Agricultural and General Trading Cooperatives, An Hoa Tay Agricultural Cooperative. Continuing to review and implement policies to encourage and support the development of cooperatives.
The district continues to support and facilitate units to access science and technology, improving the ability to apply them to production and business. In coordination with the District Youth Union and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Ba Tri District Branch, Viettel mobilized business households on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street in Ba Tri Town to implement the Cashless Street model and organized the launch of the model, with 58 business households equipped with payment QR codes placed at the stores; implemented the Cashless Market model at Cai Bong Market, An Ngai Trung Commune, equipped payment QR codes for traders in the market and continued to mobilize the remaining traders to participate...
In the first 6 months of 2025, the district started 5 new projects, with a total capital of 84,596 billion VND; completed and put into use 4 projects, with a total capital of 40,816 billion VND. The total disbursed construction investment capital is estimated at 103.5/156,261 billion VND (including central, provincial and district capital), reaching 66.24% of the resolution, up 7.50% over the same period. Total budget revenue is estimated at 662,821 billion VND, reaching 57.37% of the plan, up 38.38% over the same period. Total budget expenditure is estimated at 628,829 billion VND, reaching 62.71% of the plan, up 42.34% over the same period.
“In early 2025, the district launched the “New Dong Khoi” movement to build new rural areas (NTM). Up to now, My Chanh and Phu Le communes have completed the construction of advanced NTM criteria and organized a recognition ceremony. Organized an inspection of the progress of NTM construction in Phuoc Ngai, Bao Thuan, An Ngai Tay, and My Hoa communes. The district coordinated with the Provincial NTM Coordination Office, departments, and branches to survey the investment portfolio for 10 communes to build NTM. Focused on speeding up the completion of documents and proposing to consider and recognize 4 NTM communes of Phuoc Ngai, Bao Thuan, My Hoa, and An Ngai Tay; it is expected that the communes will be recognized as meeting NTM standards by June 2025 at the latest. Currently, the district has 10 communes meeting NTM standards, including: Tan Thuy, My Nhon, An Ngai Trung, Vinh An, An Phu Trung, My Chanh, Vinh Hoa, My Thanh, Phu Le, and An Binh Tay”.
