Bac Giang organizes many propaganda activities to celebrate World Human Rights Day

In 2023, Bac Giang will implement Plan No. 92/KH-BCĐNQ on organizing information and propaganda activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of World Human Rights Day (December 10, 1948 - December 10, 2023).

Propaganda activities in the province are assigned to agencies based on specific functions and tasks. Accordingly, departments, branches, sectors and localities, based on their functions, tasks and specific situations in their units and localities, in many forms and languages, exploit the strengths of digital platforms and social networks to promptly convey official information to people at home and abroad. Organize seminars, make documentaries, write propaganda articles about human rights achievements; build the image of Vietnam; hang banners and slogans on World Human Rights Day...

The Bac Giang Provincial Human Rights Steering Committee also assigned tasks to its members: The Provincial Police proactively coordinated and provided information and documents to the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications and media agencies on the situation and results of the fight against crime, the results of handling cases related to security and order (SOT); results of implementing the Convention against Torture; results of reforming administrative procedures in the field of SOT; results of the execution of criminal sentences, temporary detention, temporary custody, rehabilitation of prisoners and amnesty... to serve the work of information and propaganda on human rights protection and foreign affairs in the mass media.

The Department of Foreign Affairs shall preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors to organize timely information and propaganda activities on policies, laws, and achievements in human rights work in the province, especially in the fields of ethnicity and religion, to partners and international delegations; regularly exchange and provide information on the results that local authorities have implemented in accordance with the contents of the mechanisms and recommendations of the United Nations Human Rights Council, on complicated cases that foreign partners are interested in (if any)...

The Provincial People's Committee Office coordinates with the Provincial Police to advise the Head of the Provincial Human Rights Steering Committee to monitor and urge departments, branches, sectors and People's Committees of districts and cities to promote information and propaganda work on policies and achievements in ensuring human rights in all social fields and effectively carry out the assigned tasks in the Plan.

Coordinate with the Provincial Police to advise on the implementation of propaganda activities on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of World Human Rights Day; based on the actual situation, select and organize the hanging of banners and slogans (from November 30, 2023 to December 30, 2023) with the following contents: Celebrating the 75th anniversary of World Human Rights Day (December 10, 1948 - December 10, 2023); Vietnam is active and proactive in its role as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council; Vietnam commits to contributing to the world's common efforts to promote and protect human rights; Vietnam prioritizes the implementation of international commitments on human rights; Vietnam always ensures freedom of belief and religion; Vietnam ensures the rights of ethnic minorities; Vietnam strives to prevent and combat human trafficking...

The plan aims to widely disseminate and raise awareness among cadres, party members and people about the Party's viewpoints and policies, the State's policies and laws, the importance of protecting and fighting for human rights; contribute to fighting and preventing plots and activities that take advantage of democracy and human rights to slander and distort and sabotage by hostile and reactionary forces. Enhance responsibility and strengthen close coordination between departments, branches, localities and press and radio agencies in the work of informing and propagating Vietnam's achievements in the fields of ensuring human rights.

The plan sets out three key groups of tasks, including: Proactively informing and disseminating achievements in ensuring human rights in the locality in the fields of politics, economy, culture and society, focusing on highlighting achievements in areas that hostile and reactionary forces are taking advantage of to sabotage such as: Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, association, religion, ethnicity; the right to complain and denounce; results of handling political opponents, the number of subjects who have completed their prison terms, leaders of complex complaints taking advantage of religion and ethnicity to violate national security; the number of prisoners released for crimes against national security.

Organize to thoroughly disseminate to cadres, party members and people the Party and State's policies and guidelines on Human Rights. Strengthen management and strictly control information on mass media, especially in the fields of press, publishing, information and communication, and the Internet. Timely detect and prevent false information, unverified information that creates loopholes for hostile forces and bad elements to exploit, distort the Party's policies and guidelines, causing bad public opinion among cadres, party members and people. Strictly implement the regulations of the Provincial People's Committee on speaking, ensuring truthful and objective information in accordance with the Party's viewpoints and guidelines.
