Bac Kan: Efforts to accelerate the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households

As of May 29, 2025, Bac Kan province has completed and started construction of 3,371/4,716 houses under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, reaching a rate of 71.5%. Compared to the previous week, this result increased by 7.1%, showing great efforts of all levels, sectors and localities.

Specifically, the province has completed the construction of 802 new houses and repaired 256 houses, with the total number of households receiving support reaching 1,058, an increase of 205 households compared to the previous reporting period.

In addition, 2,313 households are under construction and repair, an increase of 130 households compared to before, bringing the total number of completed and started houses to 3,371, reaching more than 71% of the plan.

The funding source was mobilized from many programs, projects and contributions from organizations and individuals. Notably, the total funding from other sources such as the “For the Poor” Fund, the provincial relief fund, support from other provinces, etc. reached more than 151.9 billion VND. Of which, Bac Ninh province supported 39 billion VND, Thai Nguyen province supported 3 billion VND and many other sources were mobilized to supplement the implementation funding.

These figures reflect the great efforts of the government and mass organizations in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, gradually improving the quality of life for the people.

However, there are still 1,345 households that have not received support, accounting for nearly 28.5% of the total number of households in the 2025 plan.

Leaders of Dak Lak Electricity Company and the Representative Office of Nhan Dan Newspaper in Dak Lak province presented 60 million VND to the family of Nguyen Huu Dung and Ngo Thi Nhuan to build a house.

Nhan Dan Newspaper and Dak Lak Electricity Company donated funds to build Great Solidarity houses for poor households in Krong Buk district.

The biggest difficulty is still the uneven progress of funding. As for support for meritorious households, funding has not yet been provided.

Some funding sources are still slow to disburse, especially in mountainous communes and remote areas where travel and construction conditions are difficult. The mobilization of labor days has also been promoted but is still not enough to meet actual needs.

To achieve the goal of eliminating all temporary and dilapidated houses this year, Bac Kan province needs to continue to mobilize more resources, overcome financial difficulties, and speed up construction progress so that no one is left behind.

Bac Kan strives to complete the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses before June 30, 2025.
