Currently, 2 of my children are married and have their own families. For a long time, my children and I have lived in a bamboo house, which leaks when it rains and has no place to sleep. When we received support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses, my children and I were very happy and thanked the government for their attention. In particular, my family received a lot of support from union members and youth in the commune from cleaning up the old house, transporting materials to building a new house.”

Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union informed and summarized the first phase of the campaign to support housing construction for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the province in the two years of 2024 - 2025. Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province have established and deployed 393 youth volunteer teams, with 8,550 youth union members participating in supporting and constructing 725 houses in the province. In addition, youth union chapters at all levels have mobilized donations through the Fatherland Front channel of nearly 1.4 billion VND and the whole union has mobilized contributions of more than 2.59 billion VND. In addition, youth union members have also mobilized support with construction materials worth nearly 2.6 billion VND, helping families clear land, dismantle houses, clear, dig foundations, transport materials, etc.
In 2025, together with the entire political and social system in supporting the construction of houses for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee directed the grassroots youth unions to deploy the key tasks of the campaign. During the Youth Month of 2025, Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union chapters at all levels established 133 youth volunteer teams with 1,311 union members and young people participating in supporting the construction and repair of 136 houses with 660 working days, with a total support value of more than 1.56 billion VND. Youth Union chapters at all levels mobilized and donated cash and construction materials worth more than 200 million VND.
In particular, during the peak emulation period of youth volunteers joining hands to support the construction of houses for poor households, near-poor households, and households with housing difficulties in the area from May 27 to June 20, 2025, the Standing Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union directed the implementation and establishment of 89 youth volunteer teams with 1,173 youth union members participating. As of May 30, 2025, all levels of the Youth Union have participated in supporting the construction and repair of 311 houses.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nhat, Standing Committee Member, Head of the Youth Front Committee of Thanh Hoa Province, said: Right from the launch of the campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties, the Provincial Youth Union issued a plan to implement peak emulation campaigns for youth volunteers to join hands to support the construction of houses for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the province. Establish youth volunteer teams (priority is given to establishing local forces) at housing construction projects. Based on the actual situation, the teams support working days, register to undertake appropriate tasks such as: clearing, digging foundations, transporting materials and participating in basic construction during the construction process... Assign specific tasks, clear time and location, and coordinate well to avoid overlapping with other participating forces. Grasp the practical situation and specific needs of each household to arrange appropriate forces, ensuring practicality and efficiency. Based on the implementation results, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee will consider rewarding collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements...
“Through this activity, it helps union members and young people understand the purpose, meaning, humanity and kindness of the movement. At the same time, it creates a vibrant and widespread competitive atmosphere during peak competition periods. 100% of districts, towns and city unions have established youth volunteer teams to support the construction of houses for poor households, policy households and households with housing difficulties in the province. The coordination and support process ensures absolute safety for the participating youth force, choosing tasks suitable to the actual conditions of each locality and unit,” Mr. Nhat added.
Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, Thanh Hoa youth will actively and determinedly strive to successfully implement the goal of Thanh Hoa province to support 15,402 houses for poor households, near-poor households, meritorious people, and households with housing difficulties throughout the province in 2025.
