Bac Lieu: West bank of Canal 30-4 has severe landslide, traffic is cut off

Local authorities installed signs prohibiting people and vehicles from passing through the landslide area.

Specifically, the landslide that caused the collapse of the road surface on the west bank of Canal 30-4 (near the tidal sluice, Nha Mat ward) occurred at 3:00 a.m. the same day; 3m wide, 15m long. The initial cause was determined to be due to the early season rains in the past few days, making the soil structure loose, combined with the high tidal amplitude, causing the landslide.

Regarding the remedial plan, Mr. Luu Thien Thanh, Chairman of Nha Mat Ward People's Committee, said that the locality has immediately fenced off the dangerous landslide area, placed signs prohibiting people and vehicles from passing through; assigned staff to monitor the situation, promptly report and handle if the landslide continues to occur. At the same time, it is recommended that the competent authority speed up the progress of handling landslides in this area.
