Bac Ninh leads the country in the number of social housing projects started.

On July 12, a representative of the Ministry of Construction said that nationwide, there are currently 561 social housing projects that have been started with a scale of 518,070 apartments (an increase of 66 projects, 115,172 apartments compared to the time of information announcement in early January 2024).

Bac Ninh is the leading locality in the country in terms of the number of social housing projects that have been started thanks to its active efforts in attracting investment and implementing social housing construction. Currently, the province has 16 projects with 10,792 units that have been started.

In addition to Bac Ninh, several other localities have many social housing projects that have been started, such as Hai Phong with 9 projects with 15,054 apartments, Thanh Hoa province with 10 projects with 8,748 apartments, Dong Nai province with 8 projects, 9,074 apartments, Binh Duong with 7 projects with 6,557 apartments, etc.

By early July 2024, according to statistics from the Ministry of Construction, provinces and cities across the country had planned about 10,000 hectares of land for social housing. Thus, compared to the 2020 report of 3,359 hectares, the land area for social housing development has increased by 6,641 hectares to date.

Some localities pay much attention to planning land funds for social housing development such as Dong Nai with 1,064 hectares, Ho Chi Minh City 609 hectares, Quang Ninh province 704 hectares, Hai Phong city 837 hectares.

Through synthesis, currently 32/63 provincial People's Committees have sent documents or announced on the electronic information portal about the list of projects participating in the program with 73 projects. In which, some localities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Bac Ninh have announced that each locality has 6 projects, followed by Binh Dinh with 5 projects....

Regarding the development of social housing for the people's armed forces and social housing belonging to trade union institutions, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is building a housing area in Dong Van II Industrial Park, Ha Nam province with 500 apartments and a housing area in My Tho Industrial Park - Trung An Industrial Cluster, Tien Giang province with 998 apartments.
