Bac Ninh seeks opinions for 55 MW wind power project

Bac Ninh province is seeking comments on the Bac Giang 2 Wind Power Plant Project proposed by ENERTRAG Vietnam Co., Ltd. with a scale of 55 MW including 9 turbines with an expected capacity of 5.5 - 6.3 MW/turbine; column height is 130 - 140 meters; blade diameter: 171 - 182 meters.

The expected operating period of the project is 50 years, the economic life of the project is 20 years; the expected annual electricity output is 126,340 MWh. The surveyed land area of the project is 1,524 hectares.

Many investors are still interested in wind power.

The total expected investment of the project is 2,108.5 billion VND (including VAT), of which equity capital accounts for 30% and loan capital accounts for 70% with 1,475.95 billion VND.

The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province also requested the Ministries to give their opinions before September 15, 2025 on the suitability of the project investment proposal with related plans being prepared by the Ministries, under the approval authority of the Prime Minister.

In Vietnam, in 2020, ENERTRAG SE established and owned 100% capital with ENERTRAG Vietnam Co., Ltd., to carry out research and development activities for the Bac Giang 1 and Bac Giang 2 Wind Power Plant Projects in Bac Giang province.

According to the financial report, the equity of ENERTRAG Vietnam Co., Ltd. is 107 billion VND. The Bac Giang 1 Wind Power Project also received a commitment from a financial institution in Germany to arrange a medium-term loan worth 120 million EURO.

According to the Plan for implementing the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, the power source projects expected to be developed in Bac Ninh include wind power connected to the grid with a total capacity of about 800 MW, of which, by 2030, the capacity will be about 500 MW (including Yen Dung Wind Power Plant with an expected capacity of about 150 MW; Son Dong Wind Power Plant with an expected capacity of about 105 MW; Bac Giang 1 Wind Power Plant with an expected capacity of about 55 MW; Bac Giang 2 Wind Power Plant with an expected capacity of about 55 MW; Cam Ly Wind Power Plant with an expected capacity of about 55 MW; Luc Ngan Wind Power Plant with an expected capacity of about 30 MW; Tan Son Wind Power Plant with an expected capacity of about 50 MW). In addition, there is the Bac Giang Waste Treatment and Power Generation Plant with a capacity of 25 MW and rooftop solar power of about 86 MW.
