Russian investors propose to study wind power investment in Ha Tinh
NovaWind Vietnam Co., Ltd., a member of Rosatom Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company (Russia), proposed to study, survey, design and construct a wind power project in Ha Tinh.
The People's Committee of Ha Tinh province has just worked with NovaWind Vietnam Company Limited under Rosatom Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company (Russia) on wind power development.
At the meeting, Mr. Evgenii Chivilev, General Director of NovaWind Vietnam Co., Ltd. said that currently, the company owns all the capacity to manage wind farms, mass produce wind turbines, develop products, market and trade, and support customers with products.
Mr. Evgenii Chivilev said that after reviewing Vietnam's power development plan, the company realized that the Vietnamese market, including Ha Tinh, has a lot of potential for wind power development. Therefore, the company hopes that Ha Tinh will create favorable conditions for research and survey as well as design and construction of suitable projects.
Mr. Tran Bao Ha, Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee, said that Ha Tinh always creates favorable conditions and accompanies businesses that want to learn about investing in the locality. The policy of researching and surveying wind power is consistent with Vietnam's strategy and Ha Tinh's orientation.
“The People's Committee of Ha Tinh province will assign relevant departments and branches to coordinate and discuss specifically with NovaWind Vietnam Company Limited in the process of surveying and exploring investment opportunities in the renewable energy sector,” said Mr. Bau.
Mr. Ha also noted that the proposed investment project must be consistent with the power development plan. In case the investment project is not included in the plan, it can only be implemented when the power development planning agency submits the plan to the competent authority for approval.
Ha Tinh is assessed to have relatively high wind energy, reaching 600-800 W/m2/year (MW/km2/year) with wind speed reaching from 6 - 9m/s (data published by the Institute of Energy - Ministry of Industry and Trade combined with data from investors surveying and measuring wind in areas to assess the potential in the province); this is a condition to create a strong breakthrough in renewable energy development in the coming time.
Recently, many investors have surveyed and researched investment in renewable energy projects (wind power, solar power, biomass power, etc.) in Ha Tinh. The Provincial People's Committee has submitted documents to supplement the power development planning of 17 wind power projects with a total capacity of 3,325.7 MW.
The province also has a relatively synchronous system of transformer stations and high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage lines of 110kV, 220kV, 500kV, which is convenient for connecting and releasing capacity of energy projects. This is the potential and advantage for developing renewable energy projects and developing industrial parks and industrial clusters.
