The Provincial Steering Committee on Science, Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation held its second meeting.

On the afternoon of April 4, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung chaired the second meeting of the Steering Committee on science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation, reviewing the results of activities in the first quarter and deploying key orientations and tasks for the second quarter of 2025.

Attending the meeting were Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Le Tri Thanh, comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and representatives of relevant Departments and Branches.

Implementing Resolution No. 57 dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, Quang Nam has focused on perfecting the Steering Committee, assigning direct tasks to members, and at the same time focusing on issuing and implementing the 2025 Action Plan. Accordingly, in the first quarter, the province has implemented a 90-day peak period focusing on building a database in the province; conducting surveys at units to guide sectors and localities to review and count data volumes, have plans to standardize and update data; develop a draft Plan to improve the quality of providing and promoting the use of online public services in Quang Nam province for the period 2025 - 2030; Submit to the Provincial People's Council to issue Resolution No. 03/2025 dated March 12, 2025 stipulating the level of expenditure to support the activities of the Community Digital Technology Team in Quang Nam province for the period 2025 - 2027; focusing on spreading the "Digital Education for All" Movement to promote learning on digital platforms, popularize and improve knowledge of science, technology, innovation, digital skills, basic digital technology among cadres, civil servants and people. In addition, in order to create a breakthrough in digital transformation, the province focuses on implementing the Proactive Public Administration Project, aiming to proactively provide online public service procedures based on the needs and desires of people, businesses, etc. In addition, difficulties and obstacles in developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the province were also mentioned at the meeting.

Concluding the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet affirmed that developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation is an important factor, a key and strategic task of the province, which is decisive for the rapid and sustainable development of the country and the locality, making practical and comprehensive contributions to all socio-economic, national defense and security developments. Therefore, in order for this work to go deeper and deeper, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet requested that sectors and levels pay attention to and promote propaganda to create a change in awareness among all classes of people about the work of developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; identifying this as a strong revolution in innovation of thinking, aiming to create a breakthrough in building smart government and e-government.

In addition, members of the steering committee need to continue to coordinate in reviewing and removing bottlenecks to adjust and perfect institutions to promote science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; in which priority is given to issuing detailed plans, clearly assigning people, tasks and responsibilities to ensure progress of targets set out in the issued plan; focusing on accelerating the digitization of databases in the province; ensuring seamless connection of the data system during the merger between Quang Nam and Da Nang; promoting the participation of sectors, levels and media agencies, especially strengthening the role of community digital technology teams in effectively spreading the movement "Digital Education for All" according to the policy of the Central and the province.
