Bring water along the river to the sea

The drainage system in Tuy Hoa City is a common sewer system that includes both rainwater and wastewater. Water flows through pipes or through natural seepage into the Da Rang River and then flows into the East Sea.

In the inner city area, the rainwater drainage system has been invested synchronously with a length of more than 124.5km including box culverts, round culverts, PVC culverts, and drainage ditches. Up to now, the drainage system has basically met the development needs of the city and gradually reduced the phenomenon of water stagnation and flooding during heavy rains. The drainage system in rural residential areas has also been invested, in which communes near the city center have a relatively synchronous drainage system. Areas far from the center drain according to the terrain. Rainwater and wastewater drain into gardens, self-permeate or flow into ponds or drain along the roads, flow into rivers, lakes, canals, etc.

The current wastewater drainage system is being deployed to each residential area, public works, commercial works... after preliminary treatment in septic tanks, it will be discharged into the main sewer system D600, brought to the centralized wastewater treatment area and then pumped to Hoa Hiep 1 Industrial Park for treatment according to environmental standards according to current regulations before being discharged outside.

Medical wastewater is separated and treated separately by a centralized treatment system at hospitals before being discharged into the external water system. Wastewater from factories, craft villages, and small-scale industries is basically treated locally in the works and then discharged into the stormwater drainage system along the traffic axes and into the river system. All newly built production facilities and enterprises must have a wastewater treatment area that meets environmental standards before being granted an investment license.

According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Thanh, Vice Chairman of Tuy Hoa City People's Committee, the city has a total length of more than 64.7km of rainwater drainage pipes running along 85 roads. Currently, the city has 25 roads with a length of more than 19km without rainwater drainage pipes. On the roads, there are 1,974 manholes, rainwater collection pits; 285 self-permeable pits and 22 discharge pipes to rivers, streams, seas... The entire urban area drains towards the Ba River.
