Handing over 5 sand mines for Chau Doc - Can Tho expressway construction

On December 9, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province held a handover ceremony of documents, locations, mining reserves, and environmental impact assessment reports of 5 sand mines to contractors of Component Project 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project (phase 1) so that contractors can prepare documents and mining procedures according to special mechanisms.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Vietnam Expressway Administration, the My Thuan Project Management Board, leaders of Soc Trang province, and project contractors.

At the ceremony, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province handed over documents of 5 sand mines with a total area of ​​over 450 hectares and reserves of about 11,035,343 ^m3 to contractors.

In which, Truong Son Construction Corporation has a need to use sand for roadbed construction, under package number 11 of 1,470,753 m³, assigned a sand mine with an area of ​​100 hectares, reserves of 3,360,000 ^m3 , in An Thanh Nhat commune, Cu Lao Dung district.

Hai Dang Joint Stock Company has a need to use sand for roadbed construction, under package number 10 of 1,772,879 ^m3 , assigned a sand mine with an area of ​​73.62 hectares, reserves of about 1,987,740 ^m3 , located in Tran De Town, Tran De District and An Thanh Nam Commune, Cu Lao Dung District.

Soc Trang provincial leaders handed over the decision to hand over sand mines in the area to contractors.

Construction Corporation No. 1 has a need to use sand for roadbed construction, under package No. 12, which is 1,451,449 ^m3 , and is assigned a sand mine with an area of ​​52.9 hectares, a reserve of 1,190,520 ^m3 , located in Nhon My commune, Ke Sach district, and a sand mine with an area of ​​167.93 hectares, a reserve of 2,518,950 ^m3 , located in An Thanh Dong commune, Cu Lao Dung district.

Traffic Construction Corporation 5 has a need to use sand for roadbed construction, under package number 9 of 1,891,077 ^m3 , and is assigned a sand mine with an area of ​​57.3 hectares, with a reserve of 1,978,133 ^m3 , located in An Thanh Nhat commune, Cu Lao Dung district.

Mr. Tran Van Lau, Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee, requested contractors to use sand for the right purpose for the highway project.

The above sand mines are located on the Hau River, in the districts of Ke Sach, Cu Lao Dung, Tran De (Soc Trang), bordering Tra Vinh province.

Mr. Tran Van Lau, Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province, said that the handover of the sand mine to the contractor was an effort of the locality with the hope of completing the project soon and ensuring quality. The province and relevant agencies closely coordinated with the contractor to properly implement the Government's policy. Mr. Lau requested the contractor to ensure safety during the exploitation process, as specified, in the right location, and to transport and use it for the right purpose to serve the expressway project.

Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project (phase 1), with a total length of 188.2 km, passes through 4 provinces and cities: An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang and Soc Trang. The starting point connects to National Highway 91 (in Chau Doc City, An Giang), the end point intersects with Nam Song Hau National Highway, connecting to Tran De Port Road (Soc Trang). The total investment is 44,691 billion VND, from the central and local budgets.
