Minister of Education and Training recommends closely following exam marking guidelines when merging provinces

On the morning of June 26, a working delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training led by Minister Nguyen Kim Son inspected the organization of the exam in Vinh Phuc. According to the Minister, the exam took place as planned and required.

THE EXAM MARKING WORK WILL BE RELATIVELY COMPLEX

Through discussions with invigilators and candidates at the examination sites, it can be seen that Vinh Phuc 's preparations are very good, and the candidates are also confident. Given the nature and scale of this year's examination, the Ministry of Education and Training attaches great importance to all stages, from training officials participating in serving the examination at different stages to compiling guidance documents, requirements and instructions for localities. During the examination, the Ministry of Education and Training always reminds the invigilators and examiners to properly implement the regulations and strictly comply with the requirements. This is an important factor to ensure the examination takes place safely and seriously.

This year, the exam marking will be relatively complicated compared to previous years, reflected in the number of subjects and exams. The merger of provinces and cities falls right on the exam period. Vinh Phuc is one of the localities with major changes when the exam supervision belongs to the Vinh Phuc Department of Education and Training but the exam marking is done by the Phu Tho Department of Education and Training. The Ministry of Education and Training has asked localities to closely follow the instructions to do a good job of marking exams.

DOUBLE THE CODE OF ELECTIVE EXAM SUBJECTS

Today (June 27), 12th grade students will take their final exam with 2 elective subjects. This is also the exam with the most changes in the exam organization.

According to regulations, to take the exam under the 2018 General Education Program, in addition to the two compulsory subjects of literature and math, candidates can choose the remaining two subjects from the subjects they have studied at school (foreign languages, chemistry, physics, biology, geography, history, economic and legal education, information technology, technology).

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training from the results of candidates' registration, this year's exam, history was the subject chosen by the most candidates with 499,357 candidates; followed by geography with 494,081 candidates; English with 358,870 candidates; physics with 354,298 candidates...

On the other hand, if we do not count foreign languages ​​other than English (Russian, German, French, Chinese, Japanese, Korean), the subject with the fewest candidates is industrial technology with 2,428 candidates; information technology with 7,716 candidates... These are also subjects that appear for the first time in the high school graduation exam... Natural science subjects such as biology and chemistry also have much fewer candidates choosing them than social science subjects...

The number of candidates in an examination room remains the same as previous years, 24, and candidates do not have to move to change examination rooms according to the combined exam as in previous years. In the elective exam session, a room can arrange up to 5 elective subjects. Therefore, in this year's high school graduation exam, instead of only having 24 elective exam codes for 24 candidates in 1 examination room as in 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training increased the number of exam codes to 48. In which, 1 exam subject can be repeated in 2 exam sessions, accordingly each exam session will have 24 exam codes.

To ensure convenience in organizing the exam, the Ministry of Education and Training said it has calculated that the collection of elective subject papers will be by room without having to classify by subject.

The Ministry of Education and Training noted that when taking the optional exam, candidates must be present at the exam site from the beginning of the exam session and may only leave the exam site when the optional exam time is over (after finishing both optional exams). For example, previously, candidates who were only taking the second exam in the optional exam could arrive 15 minutes before the second exam time. However, from 2025, candidates must arrive from the beginning of the exam session.

Give candidates extra tips for solving exam questions

Thanh Nien Newspaper presents the candidates with a supplement of Suggested Solutions for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam in the print editions of June 27 and 28. The supplement consists of 4 pages (A, B, C, D) with detailed instructions for solving the exam.

15 candidates were suspended from the exam on the first day.

According to a quick report from the Ministry of Education and Training, the passing rate of both literature and math exams was over 99%. On the first day of the exam, 15 students were suspended from the exam for violations, including 10 students from the literature exam and 5 students from the math exam. The main violations were bringing phones and documents into the exam room.
