This is one of the projects under the "Borderland Bright Model" that the Party Committee and the Border Guard Command of the province have planned to implement along the province's border.
The model aims to mobilize maximum social resources to participate in economic, cultural, and social development while strengthening national defense and security; building a strong people's border defense system and a solid people's border defense posture; and consolidating the grassroots political system in particularly difficult villages and hamlets.
In phase 1, the model was implemented in 11 out of 159 villages and hamlets in the land border area with difficult socio -economic conditions.
After more than a year of implementation, the "Bright Village in the Border Region" model in the border area of Thanh Hoa province has achieved many positive results. The provincial Border Guard Command has proactively connected with businesses, organizations, and philanthropists to support the people in building many projects such as village gates, volleyball courts, concrete roads, repairing inter-village roads, installing solar-powered lighting systems, equipping village cultural centers with facilities; repairing and building new classrooms at border schools...
Social welfare programs such as "Spring Border Guard: Warming the Hearts of Local People" and "Compassionate Tet" are regularly organized, distributing thousands of gifts to policy beneficiary families, meritorious individuals, respected figures, poor households, and students in difficult circumstances.
The total value of resources provided to support villages and hamlets in border areas reached over 5.8 billion VND.

Representatives of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Red Cross Society received 550 million VND in funding for the implementation of the model, supported by Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited.
Specifically, the village gates and solar-powered lighting systems, totaling 550 million VND, sponsored by Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited for 11 villages implementing the "Bright Villages in Border Areas" model, are considered to have a significant impact, contributing to changing the face of rural border areas, ensuring security, order, and safety for the people.
