The “Veteran’s Love” house was given to member Tran Thi Trung, a 4/4 war invalid, 75 years old, Cai Nuoc hamlet, Phu Tan commune, Phu Tan district, the wife of a martyr, a person who participated in the resistance war against the US, and was exposed to toxic chemicals. After more than 1 month of construction, the house has been completed and handed over with a total cost of 120 million VND, of which the Central War Veterans Association supported 80 million VND, the rest was contributed by the family.
Colonel Do Tan Phuoc, Vice President of the Association of War Veterans of Ca Mau province, presented the decision to donate the "Veterans' Gratitude" house to Ms. Tran Thi Trung.
Colonel Do Tan Phuoc, Vice President of the Association of War Veterans of Ca Mau province, said: Implementing Decision No. 03/QD-CCB dated January 3, 2025 of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of War Veterans, on supporting funding for the construction of "Veteran Gratitude" houses for War Veterans who are really facing housing difficulties. Ca Mau province alone is supported with 4 houses with a support level of 80 million VND each. The Provincial Association of War Veterans focuses on construction with the supported funds, the cooperation of the government, families and the Association of War Veterans at all levels, helping members with housing difficulties to settle down and stabilize their lives, demonstrating the tradition of drinking water and remembering the source, eating fruit and remembering the person who planted the tree.
Mr. Huynh Ngoc Mang, Vice Chairman of the War Veterans Association of Phu Tan Commune, presented support money to the family.
Over the years, the Party, the State and the whole society have always paid attention to and cared for policy beneficiaries, families of people with meritorious services to the country, poor families, and families of war veterans with difficult housing circumstances. For provincial war veterans, in early 2025, the Provincial Association reviewed 105 members with housing difficulties, and so far has supported the construction of 59 houses, with 46 remaining houses. The Association continues to mobilize support sources to strive to complete the construction by the end of August according to the Provincial Party Committee's policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and the Prime Minister 's policy.
