At the conference, the two sides discussed the draft project to merge the Lao Cai Economic Zone Management Board and the Yen Bai Industrial Zone Management Board. Accordingly, the merger of the two boards will help streamline the apparatus, save costs and improve operational efficiency, contributing to promoting the development of industry, trade, and socio-economic services.

Through discussion, the two sides agreed that the implementation of the merger of the Lao Cai Provincial Economic Zone Management Board and the Yen Bai Provincial Industrial Zone Management Board must ensure compliance with legal regulations, while performing well their functions and tasks, contributing to improving the effectiveness of state management, implementing provincial planning, border gate economic zone planning, etc.

The two sides also agreed on the name and proposed location for the new headquarters of the Board after the merger.

After this conference, the two committees will report and submit to the Steering Committee for the merger of Lao Cai - Yen Bai provinces for consideration, direction and approval of the merger project so that the unit can soon go into operation, manage the border economic zone, industrial zones, border gates, and at the same time build mechanisms and policies for economic zones, promote linkages between the dynamic economic zone and other regions in Lao Cai province.
