Green, Commercial Counselor of the US Embassy in Vietnam, during their visit and work in Hai Phong city.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Trung Kien, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, gave an overview of the city's socio-economic development situation, especially the role of industrial parks and economic zones in attracting investment, promoting growth and international integration. He said that 2024 is the first year the city has been recognized and evaluated by the business community as the locality holding the first position among provinces and cities in terms of PCI Index, after 7 years of ranking in the Top 10 nationwide. With this result, in 2024, Hai Phong is honored to top the rankings of 3 prestigious indexes on administrative reform, improving the investment and business environment including: Provincial Competitiveness Index 2024 (PCI); Administrative Reform Index 2024 (PAR Index); People's Satisfaction Index for State Administrative Services (SIPAS) 2024.

The Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board affirmed that Hai Phong always attaches importance to and appreciates the role of US investors and businesses, aiming to attract US investors, especially in the Southern Coastal Economic Zone with key development pillars such as: High-tech industry, modern logistics, smart cities, eco -tourism , and pilot free trade zones. At the same time, he expressed his desire to continue receiving assistance from the US Ambassador to build new partnerships; future cooperation could include more in-depth training, sharing of customs management technology, and ongoing dialogue on best practices for trade facilitation and enforcement.

He said that this visit is an opportunity for the delegation to conduct a field survey, seek economic and trade cooperation opportunities between the two sides, and at the same time promote the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the US to develop more strongly in the Northern region./.
