Vietnamese Banh Mi in the list of 24 best sandwiches in the world

The list was published by CNN on April 20 to help tourists have more food options for their upcoming trips. According to the newspaper, tourists can easily find banh mi on food carts on almost every street corner in Ho Chi Minh City and throughout Vietnam. Banh mi is not only a popular dish in the country but is also known and loved by many foreign tourists.

Banh mi is usually filled with pork, pork sausage, shredded pickled carrots, coriander and various sauces. Depending on the region, visitors can enjoy many types of banh mi with different fillings. CNN commented: “Vietnamese banh mi is crispy, fresh and extremely delicious.”

Vietnamese bread is popular with many international tourists.

Besides bread, there are three other representatives from Asia such as: Shawarma and Falafel pita from the Middle East, and Katsu sando from Japan.

Other names include: Torta ahogada and Pambazo (Mexico), Tramezzino (Italy), Muffaletta and Reuben (USA), Chivito (Hungary), Pan bagnat and Croque monsieur (France), Smørrebrød (Denmark), Spatlo (South Africa), Montreal smoked meat sandwich (Canada), Fricassé (Tunisia), Cuban sandwich (Cuba), Cucumber sandwich and Chip butty (UK), Broodje haring (Netherlands), Choripán (Argentina).
