Officers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Provincial Police) inspected Phu Luong High School. |
This year, for the 10th grade entrance exam, the whole province has over 17,000 candidates registered to take the exam at 37 exam locations. For the high school graduation exam, Thai Nguyen has nearly 19,000 candidates, taking the exam at 36 locations.
With the goal of ensuring fire safety for exams, in recent days, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police (PCCC) and Rescue Police (CNCH) forces have organized inspections of fire safety conditions at exam locations, places where exam questions and papers are stored, and places where exam invigilators and graders eat and rest...
The inspection was thorough, including assessment of electrical systems, fire protection equipment, escape routes, emergency response plans and on-site drills.
In addition, the Fire Police and Rescue Force also coordinate with school principals to organize propaganda and instruct teachers and students on how to handle fire and explosion situations.
Teacher Ha Quang Dinh, Principal of Phu Luong High School, shared: In addition to checking and reviewing fire safety before the exam, the school has established an on-site fire safety team. The team members include the exam steering committee, teachers, security guards, medical staff and support forces. We also assign specific tasks to each member: someone in charge of the electrical system, someone checking fire safety equipment, someone guiding the escape route in case of a fire.
As a newly built school, the fire prevention system at Tuc Tranh High School is relatively modern and synchronous. This year, the school is expected to have nearly 200 candidates taking the exam. To ensure the safety of candidates and staff, teachers performing the exam, fire prevention is the school's top priority.

Mr. Dinh Hong Tan, Vice Principal of the School, said: We have organized a general inspection of the equipment system, tested the pumping station and fire hydrants. The school also sent an official dispatch to the police agency, requesting to send regular forces to the exam site. During the exam period, the school organized a 24/7 fire protection patrol to ensure timely handling of any situations that may arise.
The 10th grade entrance exam and the high school graduation exam both take place in June, coinciding with the peak heat wave, posing many risks of electrical short circuits and fires. Therefore, the provincial police have asked schools, especially exam sites, to develop a “4 on-site” plan: on-site forces, on-site command, on-site means and on-site logistics.
Along with that, it is necessary to develop, revise and supplement fire prevention and fighting plans and search and rescue plans at examination locations and organize research and practice with realistic situations to proactively deal with fire and explosion situations; review and fully prepare search and rescue conditions, proactively prepare escape plans when a fire occurs, maintain and ensure escape requirements, especially in crowded areas.
During the inspection of fire safety conditions at the examination sites, the Fire Police and Rescue Force also reminded schools to overcome some limitations in maintaining a permanent force, maintaining and preserving fire fighting equipment such as portable fire extinguishers, emergency escape vehicles, etc.
Along with the inspection, the authorities also organized direct propaganda at major examination sites, organized experiences and practiced firefighting and rescue at a number of schools in the province.
The police force also recommends that examination sites ensure a stable power source, do not use high-capacity electrical equipment in the examination marking area, and review all fire prevention equipment at least 5 days before the examination date. This will ensure that the examinations are successful, not only in terms of expertise but also in terms of safety for students, teachers and invigilators.
