According to the forecast of Da Nang Power Company Limited (PC Da Nang), the commercial electricity output in the area from April to August can grow by over 12-13% compared to the same period in 2023; in which, the commercial - hotel - restaurant sectors will maintain a growth rate of over 16% compared to the same period in 2023. On the other hand, the load of the Da Nang power system in the dry season of 2024 is expected to have a maximum daily load capacity of 664 MW, an increase of 8% compared to 2023. Up to now, the company has implemented many plans such as completing the operation method of the power distribution system in 2024; the power supply plan for the dry season of 2024; the plan to stop and reduce emergency power supply when the national power system lacks power and is in extremely urgent mode; Power supply plan for important customers, power supply plan to prevent natural disasters, drought, water shortage and saltwater intrusion for water plants and irrigation pumping stations, drought-resistant pumping stations in Da Nang city...
The plans are developed in detail, specifically the solutions will be implemented to ensure the stable operation of the power system, the security of the power system, the areas of layoffs are guaranteed not to affect political activities, national security, health and closely follow the list of important electricity customers in 2024 approved by the City People's Committee. For the work of voluntary non-commercial load adjustment, PC Da Nang has signed an agreement to participate in adjustment programs with 311 customers with output of 1 million kWh/year or more. For the load shifting agreement, the company has worked and agreed on the load chart commitment with 153 industrial production customers with output of 1 million kWh/year or more. Accordingly, the average capacity of customers committed to shifting in the months (from April to July) is 25 MW; After the first 4 months of the year, the total electricity saved in the city recorded 22.7 million kWh, accounting for 2.2% of commercial electricity, an increase of 27.2% over the same period in 2023.
Particularly, as the unit managing the power grid in the central area of the city, where many important loads are concentrated such as the Airport Water Plant, Da Nang International Airport... and most of the household loads, Mr. Pham Thai Binh , Head of Planning - Technical Department (Thanh Khe Power Company) said that since the beginning of the year, Thanh Khe Power Company has inspected the entire power grid, locations, and equipment that do not meet operating standards; from there, a plan has been made to renovate the power grid system and handle replacements. The unit has also proactively exploited the remote measurement utility to continuously monitor the load level of transformer stations to avoid overloading medium and low voltage lines during the hot season. Another solution that has been actively implemented is to propagate and encourage customers to use electricity economically and effectively. Specifically, the unit has worked and signed an agreement to save electricity and adjust the load for 13 customers with output of over 1 million kWh/year, and an agreement with 4,013 customers on saving electricity in 2024. The construction of major investment and repair projects has also been accelerated with the completion of the extension of more than 12km of twisted cables, the replacement of 5,000m of twisted cables, and the replacement of 31 unsafe electrical cabinets.
According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tuan, Deputy Director of Da Nang Power Company Limited, in the coming time, the company will continue to review and implement investment projects, upgrade and renovate the city's power grid. In particular, it is expected to complete key projects such as: construction of 22kV lines, ring power grid, ensuring N-1 criteria to improve the reliability of power supply to industrial parks, High-Tech Parks and Concentrated Information Technology Parks; projects to improve reliability, complete the grid, prevent overloading of lines and transformer stations in the city; automation of the distribution grid in 2024-2025 and projects to relocate and renovate the grid to serve the planning of road opening and urban embellishment according to the requirements of the City People's Committee. PC Da Nang will also proactively work with departments, branches, sectors and related units to implement the policies of the electricity industry and the city towards the goal of best completing the task of supplying electricity to serve socio-economic development in the area.
