Rich heritage treasure
With the goal of becoming an attractive tourist destination, Ninh Thuan province is strengthening the management, protection and promotion of historical - cultural relics and scenic spots. These locations not only bring unique cultural experiences, but also contribute to diversifying local tourism products. According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ninh Thuan has 239 relics, of which 75 cultural heritages have been recorded and ranked at different levels. In particular, Ninh Thuan has 2 cultural heritages recognized by the United Nations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Of which, "Southern amateur music and singing" is on the list of representative intangible cultural heritages of humanity; "Cham pottery art" is on the list of intangible cultural heritages in need of urgent protection. In addition, the province also owns 2 special national relics, Hoa Lai tower and Po Klong Garai tower, along with 18 national relics, including famous historical and architectural works such as: Pi Nang Tac stone trap, Po Rome tower, Van Phuoc communal house, Dac Nhon communal house, Du Khanh communal house, Van Son communal house, Thuan Hoa communal house, Khanh Nhon communal house, Xom Banh temple, Tan Loc communal house, Ong pagoda and Tri Thuy communal house. Vinh Hy bay scenic spot has also been recognized at the national level, becoming a tourism symbol of the province.

Regarding intangible cultural heritage, Ninh Thuan has 5 heritages included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, including: Kate Festival of the Cham people, Tomb-abandoning Ceremony of the Raglai people, Cau Ngu Festival of coastal fishermen, New Year's Ritual of the Cham people in Binh Nghia village and New Rice Celebration Ceremony of the Raglai people in Phuoc Ha commune (Thuan Nam). In addition, there are 53 relics and cultural heritages ranked at the provincial level, including revolutionary historical relics, communal houses, temples and mausoleums, creating a rich and diverse heritage picture of Ninh Thuan. The province currently has 4 artifacts recognized as national treasures, including: Hoa Lai Stele, King Po Rome relief, Phuoc Thien Stele and King Po Klong Garai statue.
Efforts to preserve and develop
In recent years, Ninh Thuan has paid constant attention to preserving and promoting the value of historical and cultural relics. In addition to the two famous cultural symbols, Hoa Lai Tower and Po Klong Garai Tower, 12 other national relics have also received billions of dong in investment from the central and local budgets and community contributions. Thanks to that, ancient architectural works such as Van Phuoc Communal House, Thuan Hoa Communal House, Tan Tai Communal House, Van Son Communal House, Xom Banh Temple, Duc Thanh Tran Temple, etc. have been restored, embellished, and restored to their inherent beauty, contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage. These relics not only meet the cultural and religious needs of the people, many typical relics have been exploited to become tourist destinations attracting many visitors, typically Po Klong Garai Tower. Mr. Dong Van Nhuong, Deputy Head of Administration - Relic Management Department, Ninh Thuan Provincial Museum, said: At Po Klong Garai tower, many cultural, religious and belief activities of the community take place every year, but the most prominent and attracting special attention is the Kate festival of the Cham people following Brahmanism with many rituals and typical folk performing arts held in the 7th month of the Cham calendar (early October of the Gregorian calendar).
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in order to effectively promote the value of relics and cultural heritages, make an important contribution to the propaganda and education of traditions, promote the image of the homeland, attract tourists to visit, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality, in the coming time, the province will increase the mobilization of resources to restore and embellish ranked relics, prioritize investment in preserving and embellishing national-level relics, unique traditional art forms, and typical festivals. Specialized units apply traditional means and techniques combined with modern techniques to restore and prevent deterioration of relics in order to preserve the original elements that bear the unique identity and characteristics of the relics. For relics that can be exploited and serve tourism, the province continues to promote synchronous investment in infrastructure, connecting relics with scenic spots and neighboring localities to attract tourists to visit, study and learn about the value of heritage. Along with that, continue to promote propaganda to all levels, sectors and people about the meaning and importance of preserving cultural heritage values; encourage organizations and individuals to participate in activities to preserve relics, restore good traditional cultural values of the nation. Thereby, arousing people's pride and sense of participation in preserving and promoting cultural heritage values in the area.
With the diversity of cultural heritage, Ninh Thuan is gradually affirming its position on the tourism map of Vietnam. The harmonious combination of conservation and tourism development not only helps preserve cultural identity, but also creates great economic values for the locality. In the first 9 months of this year alone, the province welcomed more than 3.2 million visitors, an increase of 20% over the same period in 2023, exceeding the plan for the whole year of 2024; of which international visitors are estimated at 87,000, income from tourism activities is estimated at 3,662 billion VND.
