(CT) - The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a decision to rank Thuan Hung Communal House (Thuan Hung Ward, Thot Not District, Can Tho City) as a National Architectural and Artistic Relic. The relic protection area is determined according to the minutes and maps of the relic protection areas in the dossier. The People's Committees at all levels where the relic is ranked, within the scope of their tasks and powers, shall carry out state management of the relic in accordance with the provisions of the law on cultural heritage.

Thuan Hung Communal House National Monument.

Recently, the People's Committee of Can Tho City has also issued an official dispatch on the implementation of the above decision of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Specifically, in order to ensure the management, conservation and promotion of the value of the relic, the Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thot Not District to carry out state management of the Thuan Hung Communal House National Relic in accordance with current legal regulations. The units need to coordinate closely to effectively implement activities to preserve and promote the value of the relic. At the same time, to honor the historical and cultural values ​​of Thuan Hung Communal House, the Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thot Not District to organize the Ceremony to receive and announce the Decision to rank the National Relic according to regulations, in conjunction with important holidays and anniversaries of the country and the city in 2025.

According to documents from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, Thuan Hung Communal House was formed around the beginning of the 19th century, initially a small temple made of trees and leaves, named "Toa Mieu Vo", in Tan Thuan Dong village, worshiping "Bon Canh Son Ha", then gradually renovated by the villagers to become a communal house. In 1848, King Tu Duc conferred the title of Bon Canh Thanh Hoang, since then the locals have built and renovated the communal house to become more and more spacious. After that, Tan Hung village and Tan Thuan Dong village merged into Thuan Hung village, Tan Hung Communal House was also moved to merge with Tan Thuan Dong Communal House, named Thuan Hung Communal House.

Thuan Hung Communal House was built on an area of ​​1,050m2 , in the shape of the letter "Nhat", with a very unique architecture. The communal house roof is divided into 2 floors, the main hall is divided into 3 floors, covered with tiles. The entire communal house architecture is decorated with very elaborate and unique patterns and motifs. The main hall's frame structure is made of wood, the walls are built of bricks. The decoration system in the communal house is specially carved, carrying many good meanings. The Vo Ca is built in the style of "three rooms and four pillars", opening to 4 sides. Previously, on December 12, 2006, Can Tho City People's Committee issued a decision to rank Thuan Hung Communal House as a city-level Historical - Cultural Relic.
