At about 1:30 p.m. on May 18, a fire broke out at Nam Viet Garment Company Limited located in Hung Dao Commune (Tien Lu).

At that time, people discovered a fire at the electric pole in front of the company. When the fire was discovered, people nearby mobilized forces and means to put out the fire; at the same time, they informed the fire prevention, fighting and rescue police force (Provincial Police).

The fire was promptly extinguished.

After about 20 minutes of fire fighting, on-site forces extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to the company's production area.

The cause of the fire was initially determined to be an electrical short circuit.
