Arrest of suspect using technology to appropriate nearly 700 million VND

On September 29, news from the An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency said that the unit has just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Nguyen Huu Thai (27 years old, residing in My Hoi Dong commune, Cho Moi district, An Giang ) to investigate the act of using computer networks, telecommunications networks, and electronic means to commit acts of property appropriation.

According to the initial investigation, while working as a technology driver for Be Group Joint Stock Company, a transportation partner of Shopee Express Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as Shopee Company), taking advantage of loopholes in the reconciliation process between the two companies, from July to September 2022, Thai asked his friends to open 8 different driver accounts for Thai to control.

Thai then created many accounts to sell and buy virtual goods on the Shopee e-commerce site to place, deliver and receive virtual orders. Using the above tricks, Thai appropriated nearly 700 million VND in shipping and return fees from Be Group Joint Stock Company.

When it came time to compare Be Group Joint Stock Company and Shopee Company, these units discovered Thai's violations and reported them to the police.

The above property appropriation case is being further investigated and handled by An Giang Provincial Police according to the provisions of law.
