28 commercial banks have just announced their financial statements (FS) for the second quarter of 2025. Of these, 17 banks recorded an increase in average employee income compared to the average income in 2024.

Leading the system in terms of the highest average income increase is Sacombank with 10 million VND/month; followed by VPBank (9.8 million VND); TPBank (9.3 million); MB increased (6.3 million); NCB (5.7 million); ABBank (4.2 million); LPBank (4.1 million); VIB (4.1 million); Saigonbank and Vietcombank both increased by 4 million VND;ACB (3.3 million)...

On the contrary, banks that recorded a decrease in average employee income compared to 2024 include: Nam A Bank, HDBank, Techcombank, VietBank, Agribank, BIDV,SHB , MSB, Bac A Bank, Viet A Bank and Eximbank.

Of which, the average income of Nam A Bank employees decreased the most, with a decrease of 8.2 million VND to 21 million VND/month.

The average income of HDBank employees also decreased sharply by 6.6 million VND, to 32 million VND/month.

Although Techcombank is still in the group of banks with the highest income, the average monthly income of this bank in the first 6 months of the year decreased by 5 million VND compared to the average in 2024, to 43 million VND/person/month.

Compared with the average income of the first 6 months of 2024, Techcombank employees' income has decreased sharply by 10 million VND/month.

A notable point in the financial statements of the above banks is that TPBank for the first time "dethroned" Techcombank, becoming the bank with the highest average income per capita in the first 6 months of this year.

Accordingly, on average, each month TPBank employees pocket 43.42 million VND (including salary and allowances), while Techcombank drops to second place with an average employee income of exactly 43 million VND/month.

This is also the first time this bank no longer monopolizes the income group over 40 million VND/month, when for the first time there is the presence of "big guys" including: TPBank (43.42 million VND), Vietcombank (42 million VND), ACB (41 million VND), Sacombank (41 million VND) and VPBank (41 million VND).

The average income statistics of the 28 commercial banks above do not include MB and SHB, because these two banks do not publish detailed salary and allowance payments. Instead, the general expenses for employees include: salary, allowances and salary-based contributions.

With such a general spending level, MB spends an average of VND 54.4 million/month on employees, an increase of VND 6.3 million/month compared to the average spending level in 2024. SHB spends an average of VND 39 million/month, a decrease of VND 1.9 million/month.

However, it is estimated that the average income of MB Bank employees is over 40 million VND/month.

List of banks with average income under 40 million/month

In addition to the banks that generously pay employees an average income of over VND40 million/month mentioned above, the list of banks with an average employee income of over VND30 million/month in the first half of this year includes: VietinBank at VND38 million; NCB at VND36.65 million; VIB at VND35.38 million; BIDV at VND35 million; MSB at VND32.5 million; HDBank at VND32 million; SeABank at VND31.8 million and Agribank at VND30 million.

It can be seen that except for Vietcombank, the remaining 3 "big guys" in the Big4 group, Agribank, BIDV and VietinBank, have no longer maintained their advantage as the leading banks in terms of highest employee income after the rise of a series of private banks.

The group of the smallest private banks today, including VietBank, Saigonbank, Nam A Bank, Viet A Bank, and KienLong Bank, is also the group with the lowest remuneration levels.

In particular, VietBank is the only bank that maintains an average employee income of less than 20 million VND, only 17 million VND/month.
